Not a big Bud fan either. My brother drinks Bud Light sometimes. I prefer Coors Light which is quite popular here.

I like to go to craft beer bars and try the selection. Win some lose some.

A bit risky wandering into the unknown and picking up a 6/12/24 pack of craft unless you already know what you're getting.

Same! I don't normally have beer in the house. I don't drink too much. If I'm out with friends or at my parents i'll have one or two. I used to drink more when younger.
Kilkenny is a beer I enjoy and Leffe which is from Belgium.. also drank Erdinger when I lived overseas.

Especially for a wine glass measure.

Do they even sell it in pints?

^Champion effort Willy. That looks well handy.

I sang for my supper on Meals on Wheels Tuesday tonight while the cook swung in her cats cradle under a half moon and the cicadas thrummed in the trees.

She told me tonight she bought the hammock for her baby daughter (who is now 18) but never found a spot to hang it in her various home over the years so after 15 years travelling in the backs of various cars it has finally been hung up and strung up for the first time.

Keri Ikan (very) spicy fish curry with unidentified zuchini side dish

That's the slippery slope Loops, one minute shes stringing up her hammock the next thing is she'll be stringing you up by the bollocks.
I'd give that fish curry a swerve to be sure, not my cup of Yorkshire tea

I always got it in the bottle at a bar..but yes pretty costly. You can get them here imported for a costly penny. I haven't drank them in a long while, but I remember they did have blonde, dark choices.

Leffe would be my 1st choice, and wonderfully priced in spoons and bargain booze!

    also served on Belgian Airlines

Dirk, bravo on that top shelf.
can we get a vid of you doing a buckfast shuffle, please?

I only ever drink it when someone brings another bottle over.

    Next month.

Might save it for after my Spartan Race.

I was reading another thread about 'Preppers' and reckon that we could survive a nuclear war for some time with the fish from the pond, the eggs from the chickens and the veggies from the garden. I would probably have to eat the wife early on to help preserve our rice stock but after that we could go on for months.

In fact, on Tuesday I caught a nice pla nin from the pond while having a coffee with Ootai... this before he decided to provide us with some cabaret.

Anyway, in light of some nasty comments the other night I have decided to eat a little bit more healthily so no more fish and chips for me... last night I got the gardener to teach me how to make steamed pla nin. Did I mention he's a trained chef?

First prepare the fish with a few cuts along it's sides to help even cooking. Then cover with ginger, lemon grass and lime leaves.

And into the steamer for 20 minutes. These oval-shaped plates they sell in Thailand are perfect for fish.

While it's steaming, add a tablespoon of sesame oil, Japanese soy sauce, Thai soy sauce and oyster sauce with some sugar in a bowl and mix up with some boiling water from the kettle. Our gas ran out mid-cook so we'd had to transfer to the gardener's kitchen by this point... which ain't the cleanest to be honest. That's the dog's rice cooker before anyone mentions the state it's in.

So anyway, after 20 minutes, scrape off the greenery and add the newly made up sauce.

Add a garnish of grated ginger, celery and spring onions, then steam for another 5 minutes or so.

Job done. Easier than fish and chips I reckon. Of course chilli and garlic can be added to taste, but then the daughter wouldn't have touched it.

    One side each.

Not quite the same as fish and chips, but delicious none the less!

    Money...

And of course, preppers pudding... a papaya that had escaped the squirrels' attention.

But bollocks to that... the papaya will still be there for breakfast in the morning!

On a cold and wet evening you need something to hit the spot.

I'd give eating the missus and fish a miss but I'd devour the custard and pudding

Well the steamed fish is in the right direction Mendy. That and portion sizes. I have to say looking at some of the pics I could see a meal like that being a definite weight loss program as I wouldn't eat any of it. So there is that positive. Pic 8 and 9 made me verp a bit. Looks like what many feed soi dogs around the mooban.

Another cook style is to BBQ a fish. Salt the outside, Stuff the inside with the lemongrass and herb and Q.

Do you ever eat Pork, Chicken or Beef?

It was all looking impressively healthy until that pudding appeared. There were two puddings in that packet, did you share?

As to squirrels, I don't see them all year until now the papayas are ripening. Little buggers. Our papayas will all go to somtum, there's no hope of any of them getting ripe without the squirrel getting there first.
