Sadly and hopefully restocked tomorrow. Covid is in the major distribution centers messing things up. But major suppiers like Makro seem for the most to be keeping up. Although as you have said and I know, they vary store to store.

Have you tried growing peas? There are many brands to choose from.

    I tried them all.

Who is the poster on here who loves Fray Bentos? Was it mendip or am I thinking of another forum?

They're the kind of things I buy for an emergency, put em at the back of the cupboard and find em there 10 years later.

The return of an old favourite tonight...

The daughter has given me a wish-list before I disappear back to work.

Missing from that photo was Yorkies, broccoli, corn and boatloads of mushroom gravy.

    I used hot English mustard.

Meaning they were all part of the meal, I just didn’t manage to get a photo of them.

    Yea, ridiculous.

We had a bit of a special on a few nights ago . . . which included petai/sator, easily one of my top five favourite veggies.

sadly no fresh petai/sator available in NZ . . . but frozen ones will do

Chopped potatoes and onions. . .

Add sambal with shrimp (Malaysian chili paste)

A good dose of chili oil

Loads of fish tofu and in the pan . . . still adding the chili sambal and chili paste to measure ((Wife's hand in pic))

A glass of light rosé to not overpower the food . . .

Thank you . . . somehow the combination of shrimp sambal and petai/sator is delicious . . . normally we have prawns as well but they were on the menu today for Indian lunch.

We were going to the Chinese supermarket for some fresh durian (new import regulations allow it now), even at $50/kg in the shell as a treat, but seeing as this is the first lockdown since last April everyone is still a bit confused
