Corned silverside
DILLINGER.
Dicky is the man you want mincing around near the rump.
Brisket is the other end btw
That fooker I brought back from oz was Vas very disapointing, followed the recipe on the packaging and observed cooking times etc but the koont still came out bland, my white sauce was the highlight ( don't go getting any funny ideas dickie) me veggies were good but the silverside looked gray . Nothing like headworxsHeadworx
post of how they should work. I boiled / simmered this one. I've got one more in the freezer, might try roasting that rascal this time.

Does boiling ever make anything better? Pasta is all that comes to mind.
Meat shouldn't be boiled. Nor vegetables.

The turkey that bsnub posted earlier in the thread looks fantastic. I'm happy to read that it tasted just as good because there can be few other meals that are such a letdown as an overcooked, dry turkey often is on Christmas Day.
All the hype and all that faffing about the night before too...

My wife went into a cooking frenzy tonight. Here are the results:

^ Looks wonderful. I rather do like Newman's dressing as well.
I love the regimented presentation.
Well done to her.

Is that a bottle of shampoo on the right?
Cottage pie.
Stock just starting to reduce with the meat and veg.
Went a bit OTT on the mash after seeing a recipe on t'Interweb - butter, s&p, cream, an egg yolk and cheddar cheese - but it was good, to be fair.
Ready for the oven.
Done.
An interesting mash alternative here: https://www.bbc.com/food/recipes/com...ttagepie_14505
Velly nice Hal, what time shall I come around?![]()
Lamb chops and salad, using the reverse sear method (oven first then fry-pan).

Had a meal out in China town last night, might have overdone it a bit.
Sure tasted nice....
Steamed mussels
Prawn Crackers with dips
Chicken and ginger
Thick Red beef Curry
Washed down with a few of these.

*Note to self, buy some pork belly on the next grocery run*
So after Thanksgiving we still had the leftover turkey meat and carcass. So my lady threw it all in a pot and cooked it off then skimmed off the fat and made this wonderful turkey and dumpling soup.
