We've been having a Thai dish once a day, for a few weeks now. We typically eat western.
Pat grapao, Laab, Pat pong garee, etc.
When done properly with good quality, clean produce, they really are superb.
So, red letter day with the Moo Baan Truck Vendor – goong, nice sized medium/large THB 10 per. So, a dozen goong, a mix of veggies and a bit fruit. THB 200. Can’t be beat. Thai food centering around the dinner table…
Tom Yum Goong, Sauteed Vegetables, Omelet served over Jasmine Rice. Dessert of apples and either watermelon or mango – up to the head chef.

Nice to see a good-looking seafood meal. (What's the brown sauce on the omelette?)
No sauce - she just cooked it very fast on a high flame... tasted fine and wasn't dry
She most certainly knows how to cook and I've never been disappointed by the fare she makes. Double-edged sword though. Sometimes restaurant food rates "poor" in comparison to hers.![]()
Out and about returning home stopped at a local open air market and picked up dinner. Upon arrival found a care package from our neighbors with Popia and Pizza. A bit of food stuffs shuffling and our evening meal morphed into Kai Luek Kuey, Woon Sen, Popia and Pizza.
Dessert of Roti (a personal favorite), Malaga and S&P Fruit Cake squares on standby.
Absolutely a tastebud sampling delight. Good thing I got a treadmill.

Yea, today, more Thai food. But, another fine set of tastebud ticklers. This from the open air market right outside our Moo Baan. Really don’t shop there much as it’s just a bit too far a walk to lug bags and if we use the car we go to further and larger markets with greater variety. Got to admit though, this market is expanding well. Added another 7, now I’ve got two within walking distance, plus a pharmacy, again, now I’ve got two within walking distance. Thai’s love that close in competition – if they can make money selling that here well so can I.
Tonight, Gaeng Som Goong (very spicy), morning glory, sweet sausage. An excellent set of very different tastes that complimented each other very well. Highly recommended.

Chicken garlic Kievs with home made chips, unfortunately had to use sweetcorn on account of running out of baked beans and peas.
Tasted damn reasonable..
I would kill for something like that right now, even without beans or peas!
Starving today so an early dinner even by my usual standards...
And damn this big boy is good!

Slab of Mongolian beef and a sad coke because the first of each month is dry. Nicely seasoned beef, my medium came as more medium well with a heavy char. Pretty standard here and at least it was not well done and tough as old boots. 6/10.
I tried the Moussaka recipe from the Hairy Bikers....Moussaka recipe - BBC Food
Left it in the oven a tad too long but still tasted good...
People always post wonderful looking meals and tell us what to do. I thought i would mix things up and post how not to make Pizza
First don't try to make it thin crust. The spinning of the dough over the head only works in the movies
then don't make it on a cutting board and then try to transfer it on the pizza stone in the Oven
On the bright side I have discovered a new dish called Pizza lump.

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
^And this years Pattaya Plies Award goes to...
Good on you for sharing, we've all fucked things up in the kitchen and had a laugh about it. I tried making home-made pizza once years ago and the base came out so black its life mattered.
^^ I'd gladly eat that pizza Buckaroo... no crabs either!
Tonight I'm having microwaved baked beans and mushroom quiche!
Makes the offerings from my Pizza emporium look edible![]()
wrong thread, this should be in the Blokes Cookery thread!
Is that tinned beetroot i spy on the right? Crinkly cut ? Love it.
