^Kings Heath ?
Brummies are probably the friendliest of all the Brits you will meet on a holiday. I would put Scousers and Geordies up there too IME.
^ Brum,
It's quite nice this time of year, sat near the canal up Broad Street. There are more canals than Venice in Brum too Pat. Those barges will never catch us either :)

Just grilled the 2nd sirloin steak I bought in a pack of 2 on wednesday.
It tasted foul.
Nige
any chance your missus could give my missus some cooking lessons ?
Bought a piece of rump from Macro's the other day, 92 baht.
They sell imported aswell, I've tried their imported beef and I think it's pretty tasteless.
I'm assuming they know how to 'hang' their meat as it's pretty tasty and reasonably priced.
Hope this is OK for Bubsnub...No gravy and not burnt!
Excuse wobbly pic.

Think it could be described as medium.

Charley - more a case of you getting lucky. That beef has not been hung (too pink). Looks ok though; did you manage to chew it without your fillings falling out?
^ Managed to chew it without my false teeth falling out!:smileylaughing:
Last year I payed about 1350 baht a kilo for some imported Aussie grain fed beef. I was very dissapointed.
Macro minced beef 'fresh' is very good quality (if you can say that about mince.)
Anyway. It's better than the fresh market variety!
Do you know what mate ,, before she came to England my missus never cooked either her sister + BIL did or she most often bought it in the markets !Quote:

Farangs probably have no business trying to cook thai food , best leave that to the girls i reckon, The youtube idea is a ripper though, i will subtely suggest that to her, My wifes the same always had her meals cooked for her by the mum , or bought out, Lazy cow never learnt
Exactly the same with my misses Nige. I think a lot of Thai woman have problems when they first come to the UK because the food that was available on every street corner is no longer there. A lot of woman get home sick and feel lost without their food and have never cooked in their lives. Most young Thais don't ever have a cooker or gas ring and rely solely on bought food.Quote:

If your misses is on facebook Nige, see if she would be interested in joining this group. They seem like a decent lot. It's very much like our "Dinner" thread, they post photos of everything they eat, talk about recipes, ask for advice etc. Probably not interested but you never know.
This is what it's called. I just need to remember how to spell it. :mid:
ห้องครัวต่างแดน
^ Yes so true and to be fair I guess if she was still in LOS she would still not cook .
Its a case of needs must , which in a way is good and yes she is on FB and posts her grub online ,, her family are mighty impressed I can tell you ,, not for what she cooks ,, just the fact she is doing it at all ! lol
The meat in Macro is a dreadful. The only stuff I'd buy in there is the imported stuff where it hasn't been manhandled by a bunch of nose picking monkeys.
