Got back to the States last monday. Went to the local Farmers market and got my veggies.
Tomatoes at $ .80 a pound not good for a salad but good for Baking. Also had delicious vine ripen Tomatoes , excellent for salad at $1.20 a pound.
Here are the results of the baking Tomatoes, and Peppers stuffed with rice, chopped onions, garlick, parsley, and Ground beef.
I know, I know, but you are a vegetarian. Not today I am not!

Me too, don't pour the full can of cider in the packet sauce, guzzle 3/4 yourself first and then finish the rest of the 4 pack over the 30 min coking time.

Had a night in Bangkok last week on the way back from Aus. Thought I'd be on safe ground getting a Club Sandwich at a reasonable hotel. I've eaten many over the years and while there were a few disappointments, nothing quite like this. Who in their right mind serves the bacon out of the sandwich and on the fries. And the chicken was only in one of the two sandwiches. The egg was in the other. The whole thing was a deeply unsatisfying experience. Gave it such a serve in the online post-visit survey that the GM telephoned me to discuss. I asked whether this is what the executive chef intended or did I just get someone who didn't know what they were doing, including forgeting to put the bacon in between the too many slices of bread. He didn't actually tell me but did offer what sounded like a sincere apology. To make it even worse the only near drinkable beer was Chang.

Agreed...I don't understand why Thais don't cook bacon crispy. Feel free to name and shame the establishment. I've never seen a club done like that.

Perchance was it in the lower Suk area where Muslims are frequent visitors...maybe it gave them a way to have the sandwich without breaking the faith.

The Amari next to DMK NPT. Took the opportunity to get some medical stuff addressed near there while on my way back from Australia. Despite this, the shitty room, and two small cockroaches wandering around the bathroom floor like lost souls in the morning, the hotel buffet breakfast is really quite good, clean, good service and well priced. The service and ambiance of the bar area where the monstrosity was presented is also okay although they could widen the choice of beers. Regards, -BiP

Did have some longed for comfort food in Aus (supreme pizza with cheese crust and black olives and anchovies, lamb kebab with the lot and BBQ sauce, a pub bistro cooked ribeye steak with fries/vegetables and green peppercorn sauce) but the best meal was bbq'd lamb cutlets at my sister's place on the NSW south coast. I cooked dessert, a chocolate self saucing pudding that I studded with dried cranberries and served with a very decent vanilla ice cream. Next evening my sister and her partner were watching television eating the left over pudding directly out of the cookware after warming it in the microwave and adding the ice cream. A touch of class definitely runs through our family.

^ I'm not an Easter Egg fan, might munch one or two but HCB's are my weakness.

Cut them in half, squeeze them down (flatten) them a little and wack them in the (normal) toaster for breakie.
Let them cool a little, butter and a nice coffee ... bliss.

My Thai Partner can't stand the smell of them ... kids and I love them.

2-3 kilometers into the bush from Central Tilba cyrille. She's got a good view of the mountain there and the farmlands back to the coast. Even has a glimpse of the ocean. Lovely spot with wallabies and birds galore. Regards, -BiP

Fair enough but the lady has an amazing meatloaf. I am still enjoying meatloaf sandwiches. It is actually better the night after.
