Lidl sells those golf ball shaped chinese garlic bulbs.
I'd end up using a whole bulb and still couldn't get any proper garlic flavour

Wold garlic grows around Cornwall, and you soon know it's close by cos the aroma is so strong. Downside is the cloves are tiny!

I nearly used a can of mixed beans tonight but opted for the lentils. Braised chicken & lentil with spices & mash
Ended up a bit too spicy, and I ate a bit too much of it too quickly. I'm sitting here still bloated 5hrs later with my top button undone on my pants

And being way too lazy today to get into the usual rib sides, I just skinned a few and put the meat on some lovely fresh wholewheat bread with coleslaw. Nothing fancy, but it never is in this household.
I know it sounds pedestrian, but is that the new super thick and big wheat bread from Farmhouse? I made a "Dagwood" the other Sunday after a trip to Foodland. 3 meats and 2 cheeses, plus all the veggies. I was impressed. Not the greatest in taste but fine, hearty and could hold it all and not fall apart... Cheers.
Pattaya has a much better food scene than BKK all around. Its not even close. Other than hoity toity high end "cuisine". I prefer what you just cooked. Simple and satisfying.

The bread/dough looks perfect (for me).
Good call AO, it was indeed the new Farmhouse bread. I really like it, and normally buy the multi grain but Foodland had sold out already yesterday. Mrs Worx likes it too and has one slice for breakfast most mornings but in a slightly strange fashion. She makes a mug of coffee and rests the bread on the top of it so the steam (and flavour) rises into it. Never seen a Thai do this before and I've had breakfast with more than a few local girls over the years :)Quote:

Chicken madras & a few green beans. Chicken used was thigh meat, slightly tastier.
Sauce from a jar of Pataks brand, pretty decent.
Basmati rice with a few cardamon seeds for flavour, and I love throwing in several garlic cloves for lovely taste. When rice is ready, eat the cloves. Lovely.
