Food,Meat, and things in general are so fucking expensive in Australia so im glad i stumbled upon this velveting thingo, can buy cheap cuts of meat to economise a bit. To give you an example of how fucked up it is 1 x potato = $1.00 a dollar for a fucking spud? $9.00 for a quarter of a watermellon. Ive started keeping a beady eye on it now. Im sure a lot of people are. I dont think its just an australian problem though? Pretty sure its worldwide. Anyway my next veveting effort will be chicken with a chinese recipe. Chinese restaurants in oz are actually bloody good but pricey now.
Utube these things when time permits, today i had plenty of time as i was having a day procedure in hospital for a gastroscopy which required me to eat nothing after 8.00 the previous night so i arrived at 7.00 am and started googling but all that food viewing on an an empty stomach was doing my head in so i had to switch to watching porn on my phone.
Ruddy hell BLD!
Is that Beef and pasta stir fry?
You'll be giving me a challenge for my title soon
I hear what you're saying about price increases , it's not easy when you have hungry mouths.
It's not just the double food bills but double everything bills that pisses me off.
The price of gut rot brandy has stayed the same so it's not all doom and gloom.
The government has to control us somehow, and cheap booze is the way to do it..
Shalom
Is that lad eating dinner at the dinner table in only his underpants?
Jeeez, don't be giving Mendy ideas, for the love of God.
^ FFS, guys...
That's how I use to do it too, the results aren't good. Try the way I learned somewhere online or on tv that works about 1000 times better just once and you'll be converted too.
Simply put peeled garlic, EVOO, and salt into some tin foil and wrap it.
Ready for the oven with a nice joint of pork.
Ready to throw in with the spuds and start mashing, the bulbs will be marshmallow soft and take on a deep sweet flavour that makes garlic mash taste superb.
Tip received loud and clear.
Now that google has informed me what EVOO is.
Cooking tasty food doesn't need to require skills.
Meat and veg, garlic, mushrooms.
Cook it up with some powder/paste/sauce/spices.
Cheese whenever possible.
Add rice/bread/tatties/pasta/noodles.
Make extra for the next day's lunch or freeze.
Quick and easy, staff house style.
And if some inconsiderate prick leaves their leftovers in the fridge, still in the pan, they can expect it to be eaten or in the bin when they come back for it.
Lang may yer lum reek...
^^Truth be known, any oil would probably be just fine. But whichever source I learned that trick from used extra virgin olive oil, and since I always have that in a kitchen cupboard...
So do I, until she runs out of her own cheap oil.
Basically I get about 1 cook out of a bottle then next time it's gone.
That's why I keep a takeaway dish of duck fat in the freezer. I get that for free and a local duck rotisserie takeaway place. Very handy and keeps forever in the freezer.
Duckfats the go. But its $6.79 for 200gm or $33.95 for a kg. I need to start drinking with some duck farmers i think.
I bought a chopped up roast duck to take home and the had all the ducks on vertical spits in the window. I noticed all the fat tripping down into a funnel kinda trough then into a bucket so I asked for some and she filled me up a 2l bottle for free.
^ You just broke the internet with that info. I would say that is worth at least 10 Bogon Tips!
Can't chat, off to the local duck place with a jerry can.
An extra tip for the money...
...I gave her a tip.
Might need more before Xmas 2025.
And one for the show...
...If you fancy making some black pudding, get down the beef stall at your local fresh market. They throw the blood and the suet on the bin so they're happy to let you carry some of the load. Then all you need is some pinhead oats, an onion, S&P and some casings.
Everyone knows the best black pudding *cough* Stornoway *cough* is made from cow.
yes , thats how they roll
They come home from school
, they take shower then they are glued to there computer games. , a couple of hours later . Its,dad, dad im hungry. Ive usualy got it prepared and just need to heat it up.
