Got a big rustic pork stew cooking up. Whole baby potatoes and pearl onions. Now adding the green beans and carrots for the finish.

Just watching Nigella on Saturday Kitchen.

Probably the only time I've fancied having a lamb shank while watching a lamb shank being cooked.

    Can't beat a nice stew!

Fvcked up with my dinner tonight at Chez Chitmiester.

Tough boot leather steak, home made chips and a mush/onion and pea gravy.

Not having a shot at you BB but seriously, how the hell do you guys live in places where the simplest things like new potatoes aren't readily available? I can get local, imported, pre-washed, and any other variations that exist here including some weird pink coloured ones that look odd but probably taste great!

I just don't get it, this is life and we only get one shot at it so why turn it into a reality show like Survivor by living in a place where simple things like decent groceries aren't available?

Yeah I am here. Remember I live in Don Muang. Now I cant find those baby spuds every week, but mostly they are there. For me Foodland is the place. But I always have them as I buy a few bags and keep them in the chiller of my fridge.

To be honest I don't know why we do it, I guess you don't have our priorities straight.
But boy boy do I love those new potatoes. Just wash them, cut them in half. spray olive oil on then (skin on) sprinkle salt paper, and oregano on them and bake them. Mmmm good.
    I guess i must re-examine my priorities
April we are going to Greece, we will spend the summer there, and look into making a permanent move there, but still spend winters in Thailand.
In Greece they have these traveling farmers markets called Laiki Agora, they go to different neighborhoods in different days of the week. One of my favorite places to go. Most people when they go to Greece they go to the Acropolis or Santorini. I go to the Laiki Agora LOL
Cant wait until April. I might even jump the gun and do there earlier.
There are better videos of it , but the one below is sort, simple and in English.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

This is how I cooked some this week. Boiled them till they were soft, drained well then gently smashed into a baking dish, drizzled generously with olive oil, then seasoned with S&P, Thyme, and Rosemary before giving them about 40 mins in the oven. Crispy skins and soft centers, delicious

The wife calls this 'Japanese Curry', and it's damn nice. She's made up a vat of it today so I'm hoping I won't have to cook until at least Thursday.

It reminds me of the chicken curry you get from the Chinese takeaways in he UK and will go great over chips.

    Ain't married life great!

There's a chain in BKK that does it exactly like that. Quite like it.

You can buy the Japanese curry roux in the groceries in Thailand. Makes for a great easy dinner. Just brown the meat and veggies, add water, then the sauce cubes. A bit of variety in flavors and spiciness, too.

Very tasty. Do it often, but not watery like that. Tiz gotta be thicker.

Perhaps mention that to her and she'll fek off for a few weeks in a rage and you'll be happy.

Gold Curry chain. Get in training for the 10Kg challenge and bag yourself 40K THB Mendip.

They also do them premade in packets.

    For the morbidly fookin' lazy.

But bladdy hell, you'd need serious cooking issues to go that path.

Look just like these and cost 48 baht.
