That's pretty much how I remember them. Large pot at a big BBQ or camping trip and mostly for kids. And you always have to use 2 paper plates as they make the plates soggy and they spill everywhere.

Oatmeal is usually eaten by folks on a doctors diet or old folks. Most can't stand it, like Cream of Wheat. I do however like oatmeal raisen cookies though.

When you refer to the demographic who eat 'oatmeal', or 'Rolled Oats', or simply just 'Oats', are you referring to people who reside in the USA, or the World in General?

What age do you define as 'old'?

    Oh, as a fact ...
The greatest prevalence of oatmeal consumption was in infants (14.3%)

I am going to extend an olive branch here.

I think we can all agree that the perfect burger is why we all came to this thread. It is something that all of us English-speaking nations eat and enjoy. Americans can complain that Brits like to put eggs and beans on their burgers, Brits can complain that we but that shit American cheese on, and Brits and Americans can both gang up on the Aussies for putting beetroot on their burgers.

The perfect burger is a subjective thing, but at the end of the day we all love them.

Interesting stat David. I know Cheerios are huge with very young children. They are an oat based cereal. In fact I still like Cheerios from time to time.

I dint remember serving oats or oatmeal to my daughters growing up. Of course my wife was Filipino so they did a lot of rice food with vegetables and fruit.

Never had a burger involving eggs or beans in my life.

Reg Dingle makes one tongue in cheek remark, and suddenly snub concludes something about the diet of 70 million people…

    Get a grip, snubby.

I would say the same about your countrymen here on TD. Sweeping inaccurate generalizations about 331 million people. Touche.

My 2 satang on the beans thing based on having spent a ton of time in Texas is nobody would dream of putting them on toast or as as a side to breakfast, but they're a common side at BBQ joints albeit a much smoker rendition made in-house that are bloody delicious.

Back OT and speaking of eggs on burgers, would this be called a burger or a roll?

Exactly! Finally, someone who knows! The smoked BBQ beans are delicious, you are right there but totally different from Heinz beans.

More a roll or a manwich, I would smash it, though.

    Agreed (on both counts).

I must have failed my kids ... they are more into KFC than Bugers.

And it's gone from a 'treat' to a once a week (well, for 6 months of the year) after we get home from Little Athletics on a Friday night and too late for Mum to cook.

And Snubbs ... I'll do my best to take inspiration from this thread and cook up what I consider a good burger

I thought that's what the Scots called em? Could be wrong? Calling Dirk diggler.

Bought some frozen ostrich, crocodile and kangeroo from Iceland a couple of years back.
All tasted similar nothing like the real fresh stuff.

Your opinion of Ostrich burgers may be tainted now Dill, but I'm sure the dog is happy.
Don't forget the extra poo bag hand warmers in the morning
