Had a nice Porterhouse for lunch with a tater, bacon crumbles and fresh Italian spiced carrots off the grill while watching NBA by the pool.

Dayum, that’s a nice looking lunch.
He's like Hal and Joe with a gravy jug, with that pepper mill
GRAVY!!!!!. :smileylaughing:
That's a mask to cover a nice cut of properly cooked steak. But I do understand. Air fryers, burnt food and LOADS of gravy to cover it up. The cooks at the restaurants have an easssssy job in the UK. Burn and put bowls of gravy on the plate with a big plate of peas.
Never fly here in the US. :)
Seriously, I've never seen so much " seasoning" on a plate of food.
It looks fooking ruined imho!
All you would taste is crunchy pepper corns:smileylaughing:
And I get slated for my cooking!!!
All this talk of ham reminds me of the one I cooked for Christmas day lunch.

Studded with cloves and cooked in cider to retain the moisture.
Attachment 121670
Honey and mustard sauce on top of the fat for a glazed crust and dripping down into the cider to whip up a cracking gravy underneath for the leftovers (although we had Bisto on the day on my mum's instructions:smileylaughing: )

Ham all the way now for Christmas dinner. Turkey is overrated shite.
To be fair Americans cook up some great food. Especially when it comes to BBQ'd and smoked meats.
It's just that for whatever reason a massive % of the population opt to gorge on processed fast-food garbage by the ton-load.
Because you are used to shit food. Denny's does not even use fresh eggs, it is all processed trash. I would never eat there.
Firstly, that steak was perfectly cooked. It was not burnt nor was it dry, in fact the exact opposite is true, char is not burnt it imparts flavor to the meat and makes it taste better it also locks in the juices of the meat. The fact that your pathetic island monkey brain can not comprehend this is no surprise.
It was nice. A belated Merry X-mas to you.
Me too. Pepper, salt and a good oil is all a steak needs.
They come in paper sachets, but yeah whenever the opportunity arises.
Hey JP what about a peppercorn gravy on your steak, not as crunchy and you don't have to pick the bits out of your teeth afterwards.
Contrary to belief, counting is made easier up our way than down yours, on account of us having 10 fingers and 10 toes.
Without webs.
Im going to Aberdam for lunch today, then it’s home for a poker night to ride out the storm.
Storm Eowyn might be a match for Hurricane Bawbag!

Needs more pepper!:unitedstates:
I’d give the steak pride if place in the center and the fries on the fringe.
Yeah and fook those fried tomatoes off, far too American for my palate.
^ & ^^ I'm going to hazard a guess that both of you were born North of the M4 :)
Looks pretty decent.
North of the M8 maybe.
A respectable 300g Sirloin served with fries and a pepper gravy.
None of this crunchy peppercorn mallarky or fried tomato nonsense.
A decent cut of beef with no seasoning, not needed coz it was decent.
Good ole American Cowboy Chow, missing baked beans but hey that's rodeo business...

JFC!
always season. At least S&P.
Fillet steak is fucking bland you nutter... as with Hal's overpriced centre cut of tenderloin... Those steaks are meant for pretentious Brit football hooligans who possess no teeth or oven.:)
There would be a world of a lot more flavour in Chitty's yellow stickered rump steak imho, even if you could only chew it for 20 minutes then discreetly spit it out
^^ wasn't bland. The farm hangs it quite a while and coz they like me it was £8 and I didn't need an App to find it :)
I primarily eat rib-eye's and T-bone steaks. They have the most marbling. Mikes cut was not the best, but he cooked it properly. Chitty could not cook a steak to save his life.
No. Just no. Rump is shit, best used in a stew and not suitable for duty as a steak.
:smileylaughing:
You Brits really fucking struggle with this topic. It is clear that us Americans and our Aussie kin have more in common when it comes to eating a proper steak.

Very nice Dirk!
Perfect day for it!
My lunch today may be offensive to the eye but hell what a winter warmer of a meal.
You won't see this shit anywhere but on TD!
It brought back memories of my foray into the fried Octopus gory hole.
I present bangers and mash...
6 lean and mean pork herbal sausages with a chicken peppered onion and gravy partial mish mash...

Happy to report that the log layed a few hours later was a satisfactory tsunami of a white knuckle ride.
