Well, as we seem to be in a helpful mood today, I'll chuck in the quest for a different oven... a Dutch oven, preferable the three legged camping version with reversible lid so that it can be used as a skillet/griddle.

I would really like to have one here in Thailand, but the original iron cast version is hard to find here. I know of the slow cookers at True value and Verasu but these are either enamel coated or too small. There's a moderator on TV who produced a batch of small ones for not too many money but..... I want a big one, a real one, one that can feed the whole family and more.

Yes, these ovens are freely available on the internet, in many sizes and prices. Problem is, not many will ship outside the USA and even when they do, the shipping costs are often much more than the oven itself. I also wonder what import duties would be...

Only option is to have somebody buy it in the USA, then lug it along two sets of underwear, only one t-shirt and a toothbrush as there's not much more room in terms of luggage allowance. These things are heavy. Meh... no American friends or distant relatives want to come to Thailand... summer is slowly arriving and the Thai baht is too expensive anyway.

Once here, besides using it, I really would like to have a go at finding a company that could produce some offspring as I have the feeling that there would be a lot of customers, or should I wait for the 3D printers?

Anyone know of possible other sources to get one? I'm in no hurry at all, just want one...

Sorry OP, for going a bit off topic...
