My very old mum has an al singing all dancing SS combo dual oven etc...she cooks in her toaster oven with spit etc...so I came back here and bought one as we just have gas range top. Use it all the time from toast to steaks to roast....perfect unless you want to roast a 30 lb turkey..in which case a cheap charcoal BBQ with lid would do a nice job?

I tried toast in my oven, on the grill setting of course, and the toast had 1 brown line through the centre of each slice of bread due to the bad design/layout of the elements - completely useless as a toaster, so I bought a toaster.

Now my 'oven' has popped I would like to get a decent piece of kit, something that I CAN cook a turkey in(if I really wanted), but generally it's just pies and roasts and other things that need a consistent temperature.

I found a European style free standing gas cooker with oven and three heat rings on top in a Tesco Lotus (Fairy Land) in Nakhon Sawan so these items are available in Thailand. Cannot remember what it cost (5 years ago) but did not think it expensive on purchase. Not as efficient as the ones available in UK but with a little practice on timing (no real heat settings High, Med, & Low) most things can be achieved from roasting, braising and baking. Beware however "Pyrex" products out here I had one shatter in the oven was told by supplier I had the oven too hot, for safety I have reverted to stainless steel oven ware. Real roast pork or chicken is wonderful!!

I picked up an Electrolux 4 burner gas stove with a very large oven on sale for half price at Home Pro last year after the floods. 15,500, not a problem on except for the burner that can take the Asian wok no longer lights itself, I need a lighter for that one. The oven is huge so it gets a good work out. Doing a lasagna tonight. You can check their website for sales. The same for Lotus and big C which carry the same brand.

I had a look in HomePro Rama 3 a few weeks ago but all they had were two B30,000 options, one was possibly a Fagor and the other possibly an Electrolux, I think this type of oven isn't very popular in Thailand so they're possibly selling them off and not bothering with them any more.
People either have a stand-alone gas burner and a 'wave', as they call them, whilst at the extreme other end people have fitted kitchens but that's not an option for us as we rent.

I'll keep looking around I suppose...

Not the best Homepro. While you are looking try Robinsons on Charoen Krung. They have one of the best selections of kitchen appliances that I've seen.

Agreed FP, this was the first thing I have bought big ticket at Home Pro and only because as you said everything else was 35 to 60 thousand. They could not move it as it was mid range so discounted it. But they do this 2 or 3 times a year as do all other major retailers here. I too have bought big ticket from Robinsons and had good luck. They have even shipped a non existent item in Future Park from another location so I could purchase it there.

Shops here are quite good at moving stock between various branches.. Even had them do it for polo shirts.

Speaking of filthy pits. Has anyone seen a decent oven cleaner here?

I brought some back from the uk which should last me a year but will be on the look out for more.

Don't mean to sound too defensive but you did read the reason for such grottiness didn't you?...

The problem was not only the fact that the inner walls were matt-finish and they were impossible to clean, but also that it was dangerous to clean straight after it had been used(obviously!), but if I left it to cool down, the filth was bonded to the walls, the rest of our house is spotless, me and my wife are a bit obsessive about cleanliness, so when this finally killed itself, it was a relief

Rama 4 (Sukhumvit end) is the place for catering equipment. King Machines were the original, and there are many copies next to it nowadays.

Is the oven electric? Be interested to see your electric bill for a pizza Jim..of course the boonies electric will go probably be off the moment you close the oven door..
Just kidding mate...looks like you got a great deal.
Is it stainless? Wattage for oven?
Wish I could have found a caste iron dutch oven.
One of my roundtuits is to build a brick pizza/bread oven....7 years and counting....lol

If by chance anyone knows where to buy a combo stove/oven like the one below could you please let me know!. This one was bought at Central and while it's exactly the right idea for what I want it doesn't have temp control for the hotplates, it's either full-bore or fuck-all!. Verasu had what I wanted on their website but during inquiries, they said they had no more stock and now they have nothing resembling a stove/oven combo. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated!.

I thought that^ I didn't want to say it though, especially after my piece of muck was pictured earlier in the thread!
