At Loosdrecht outside Utrecht

I rented one of the lodges for 4 years when I was working in cloggieland and included in the lease was fishing rights in the moat !!! Pike on surface lures on a summers evening with a supply of Oranjiebaum beer and a bottle of Bokma Geneva for chasers was better than anything on TV for laughs !!!
Was in the first 4 years of marriage then and honeymoon was still on- going.

On about page 20 there was a similar style castle and it was in netherlands

None bigger than 3 kg but they came out of the water like bloody Polaris missiles !!
About 1 in 4 used to get it right ! The others missed and crashed back into the lily pads !!
For fisherfolk interested we used snag proof ( double hook ) surface frogs and Scum bugs. The lily pads covered 90% of the surface !!
