His missus does and note the name Nelli and the way it's spelt. As for him being 53 he looks more like 63, perhaps he should have had a little surgery done himself whilst he was getting his baboshkas fun bags enlarged.

    Benefits cheat is jailed

A benefits cheat who used handouts to pay for his wife’s breast enlargements then faked his own death to escape justice was finally locked up yesterday.
Psychologist Stephen Kellaway was caught after the Mail tracked him down to Thailand.
He had been living under an assumed name after swindling £43,000 in housing and council tax benefits.

Family holiday: Stephen and Nelli Kellaway during their trip to Russia
Kellaway faked his death during a family holiday to Russia, where his wife had breast enlargement surgery.
He bribed a Moscow mortuary worker with a bottle of vodka to place his passport on a dead tramp and got his wife to identify the body as his.
He later fled to Bangkok using a false passport in the name of a boy who had died, and lived off the rental income from his £1million London property portfolio.
The father of two planned to bring his family out to Thailand to live with him by cashing in three life insurance policies worth £1.7million.
However his time on the run came to an end when the Mail discovered he was alive and confronted him.

Caught on camera: Stephen Kellaway, pictured in Bangkok, faked his own death while visiting Russia with his wife Nelli before fleeing to Thailand
Thai authorities later deported the 54-year-old back to Britain where he admitted a string of benefits fraud and false documentation offences.
Yesterday, jailing him for two years and eight months at Croydon Crown Court, Judge Shani Barnes said he had carried out a ‘cynical and selfish plan’.
She said: ‘It struck at the very heart of the benefits system. People such as yourself who criminally steal from those who rely on benefits and from the taxpayers who pay for them, undermine that system and demolish its credibility.’
Hammersmith and Fulham Council, which brought the prosecution, praised the Mail for helping to bring Kellaway to justice, describing our role as ‘British investigative journalism at its very best

I was in West London Magistrates Court five years ago. The case before my own was HB fraud on five specimen charges totalling 18k. The Somalian defendant was a "refugee". He had a publicly founded lawyer plus interpreter. He was given 18 month suspended sentence with an order to repay at fifty quid a month from his benefits.

Mind you, I was up on a charge of false advertising. Got an 18k fine, plus circa 3k costs and seven days to pay.

Since he is a psychologist maybe he should sit down and ask himself a few questions.
The guy's a 'looney tune'. A lot of his type are, i.e., over educated sensless teflars. He does make a very rational good case for not doing it, i.e., going on the lam.

Going on the lam is serious business. You had better have a very good reason.
Here's a clip from a movie "The Next Three Days". Russel Crowe. Russ has a very good reason to run. It's a great movie. Zamp gives it 4.5 stars.

I think by "Pollie" you mean an Englishman. It's probably the same as in the U.S. My ex IRS (gold badge) accountant that quit the IRS and started his own tax business (now retired) told me that 10% should be the limit. Along with a good accountant of course. Anything above that is a possible serious risk.

    lol
i was in court once with a mate who'd written off a load of parked cars - pissed out of his head - did a runner leaving his girlfriend in the car - was chased (and run over by and then restrained) by a sensible member of the public. He did all this with no license, with a customers car from the shop where he worked as a mechanic.

anyway, after some blag about being a hard up victim of society to said gathered clever folk, he got a 150 quid fine and a years suspension on his liscence (which he had never ever passed)

I almost punched the judge in discust

This case isn't hard to figure at all.

"Nelli returned to London with an urn which she said contained Kellaway's ashes. Facing court for the fraud, she convinced a jury that her 'abusive' husband had forced her into it and escaped with a suspended sentence".

lol., balony. They had her dead to rights. So why would the prosecution let her skate with a suspended sentence? Because she gave them the dirt and rolled the guy, that's why. The life insurance scam went south, so "Neli" cut a deal which would leave her with the assets. How can one know this?

"After returning overland to England he learned that the benefit fraud investigators had seized a laptop and notes containing details from his home of how he planned to use the cash from the life insurance payout, so he felt unable to go ahead with that scam."

Only "Neli" would have known of this laptop and notes. TaTar's are cunning, do you really suppose that "Neli" wouldn't have known of this laptop -AND NOTES- then not have desposed of them unless it would have behooved her to keep them? Yes, this is conjecture, but these next statements should remove any doubt from the jurys mind.

"Since then he has been living in Asia, mainly on the proceeds of the £1million property empire the couple built up in London".

"Penniless: Kellaway sleeping in the lounge of Bangkok Airport."

So, dear "Neli" is raking in large dough from the "property empire" and Sir Scammed is left on a bench? "Penniless"? lol. Most of the money is back where "Neli" will be soon, Moscow.

"Oh what a Tangled Web We Weave.."

Pic #1- A decent looking bloke that by the looks of him was easy prey for a scheming honey.

Pic #2- Been there, seen 'em, was almost scammed by one meself. TaTar sure. There is a TaTar saying that I got from a TaTar: "It takes three Jews to out-wit one TaTar". That's saying something and I believe it to be true. Look closely at "Neli's" eyes. How much money would you trust her with?

    Pic #3- Mr. Kellaways downfall.

Pic #4- "Neli Girl" in her own element.

I consider this case to be closed. You decide for yourselve's. Just one loose end.

"Greg Smith, a member of Hammersmith & Fulham Council which was a victim of the scam, said: 'This rogue went to extraordinary lengths to avoid detection. We are now doing everything we can to seize his assets.' "

Lots of luck. H&F may get something back, but they'll need a TaTar lawyer in Ruski-land to get more than a little.
