Whilst ever the west ignores the "responsibility to reward" factor it will disappear up it's own arsehole.
You assume China follows "responsibility to reward"? Really?

You haven't really been observing china much, or at all, have you?

We all know how solid Soviet technology was, and how well it was cared for when mothballed...
Umm.. You know that the Nasa spaceship program is cancelled ? And now the world is relying on the old Soviet rockets to launch satellites.

That, ESA launch vehicles, as well as the various US launch vehicles.

The US hasn't lost the ability to launch satellites. There are plenty of Delta rockets going up every year.

In fact, the most recent one, just 5 days ago:

World's most powerful rocket launches secret US satellite - CSMonitor.com

Prior one happened 9 days earlier.

    Next one due in August.

The so called " old Soviet rocket " is to this day, the most successfull space rocket and it was developed some 50 years ago.

    Launch Vehicles

Certainly the Soyuz launch vehicles are work horses, but the US' Delta and Atlas launch vehicles are nothing to be scoffed at, having probably delivered more launches than the Soviet's combined.

The much used Atlas V is not the best example for US space technology.

They buy RD-180 kerosene burning engines for the first stage from russia. Only the second stage burning liquid hydrogen and oxygen is US manufactured.

^^^ Very true, what i'me trying to point out, is people should'nt laugh China or Russian off as backward mugs, they are super powers, with China expanding their defence and technology capabilities every day.

When people, in China, who are found guilty of gross misconduct they are executed. Try finding a western country that even prosecutes the many bastards who steal, commit fraud, lie ..........

That to me is taking responsibility. But hey you seem to know more about this, care to expand your comment?

Yes, they are being executed, and the toxic milk powder ordered destroyed...

... only to be found to be sold to another distributor who then sends and sells it to another region, marking it destroyed... when that is finally found out, and that the deal was made by gov officials, the story disappears.

Dude, seriously, you are deluded if you think any of this posturing is for any other benefit than appearances to western observers.

What about the apartment buildings in Shanghai that fell over because they weren't bolted down, so the developer can save money - and no one was penalized?

Or about China's stealth fighter, which was a direct copy of Russia's fighter - something China's officials deny vehemently? (the same ones you praise so much).

It goes on and on - and doesn't paint a picture of responsible behavior. Just of face saving behavior.

You seem to be just anti-China, for fear - for your job or business taken over by better performing people. Perhaps you are euroshite. That is rational. Then face the facts, face the world. China is great. Euro is sh t. And I am with China. (Sorry Tom)

^ Bummer that you are wrong on all counts.

China is great for cheap labor, as long as they are strictly supervised.

    You're fucking weird.

When I studied in China (and Japan) years ago, the most revolting specimens I ever encountered where the Sinophiles and Japophiles who are as insane as Apple-oholics, Scientologists, and Islamofascists in their apologism for China (and their obsession with the epic gayness of manga).

Nice one. Although you should actually read books to, firstly to educate yourself, and then if you are so inclined, find about my nick, instead of posting silly pictures - yes as SD suggested it is a name of a spaceship in Alien, for his lacking education. True, very good movie too - but nostromo is actually Conrad. But you do know about "books", dont you?

No living animals were harmed making this post.

It's quite obvious that you are the kind of idiot who *never* had to work with any mainland Chinese manufacturers, "designers", or even regular business, but assumes that your idealistic fluff talk is reality. 'Nuff said.

Or actually there is future to this, shown by history afterwards. You never liked this and were bitter old man to your end in a nice NHS hospital bed (and you should be thankful of that). Euro lost it, China and SE Asia including Thailand and Japan, US, Canada, UK, Australia, NZ won. Russia remains source of oil and minerals, people poor and back to slavery. Africa same as always. Charter flights to Jupiter. I am in another body, young guy looking like my fav actor.

The logical conclusion is that you both know nothing.

That barely makes any sense at all.

I think Cthulu and nostromo are the same poster... you both are complete 'Philes; both make very little sense; and both make assertions based on... well, nothing really.

Incomprehensible streams of "consciousness" do not constitute an answer - on the other hand, you keep illustrating my point that you are, shall we say, "challenged" in your understanding of things.

    Wanna try again?
