Thread: 14-year-old boy commits suicide after being duped by scammers

A 14-year-old boy shot himself to death with his grandfather’s pistol, reportedly after he had fallen victim to an online scam which conned him into transferring a large amount of money from his grandfather’s bank account.


The tragic incident was reported in Khlong Khern district ofThailand’s eastern province of Chachoengsao province.


The boy’s father, whose name is being withheld, reportedly told the police that he his son had become highly stressed and felt guilty after he had been conned into transferring several hundred thousand baht to the scammers.


He said that, when he returned home Saturday night, his son was not there. He asked his father to check whether his gun was still in his room. When the gun was found to be missing, he started looking for his son in the compound of his house, which is next to a small canal where his son’s body was found.


The gun was later recovered from the canal. One bullet had been fired.

The percentage of homicides that are being solved in the US has been falling for decades. The police put a lot of resources into some homicides but few resources into others. If a woman is murdered, particularly a young pretty woman, the resources will be large (as the media interest in the investigation will be high). cyrille if you want to travel to the US and try a Leopold and Loeb, kill a couple of homeless old guys (they're easy to find), and the cops won't make much effort. This is yet another example of the two tier justice system.
