Newly imported NGV buses charged 3.7 million in fees per vehicle
BANGKOK - 29 December 2016 (NNT) - The Customs Department has stated that the NGV buses imported by Super Zara Co will be charged 3.7 million baht per vehicle in import fees.
Deputy Director-General of the Customs Department Chaiyut Kumkun revealed that Super Zara Co must pay 3.7 million baht per bus in import fees. The total fees include a 40% import tax and a deposit of twice the tax amount. Super Zara is an affiliate of Bestlin Group contracted by the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority for the procurement of NGV buses.
The company plans on importing a total of 389 buses and is scheduled to pay fees totaling 422 million baht. The Customs Department has threatened to impound the vehicles if the company fails to pay the import fees within one-and-a-half months. -
