Thought pissed in bed and thought he was sweating Go on to youtube and type in Buddhist monks and teachers killed in the South of Thailand ,its all there , of course your bit about the Buddhist mindset (money) is 100% correct
Of course I know about soldiers / militia members, teachers (lets assume most were buddhist) and sometimes monk being targeted ... but do you have any stats supporting that most of the victims are buddhists?

Because in the 3 southern(est) provinces the population is more like 70-80% muslim, so if the death toll concerns mainly the non-muslim part of the population (20-30%) that's huge... I think read some studies stating otherwise but can't say for sure ...

Thank you PT, it just sounds logical, I was questionning the reality of this secret plot considering that muslims are indeed mostly killing each other in the south...

I think the secret plot complaint is a reaction to muslims being more visible in other parts of Thailand, but I can't see this phenomenon causing the decline of Buddhism in Thailand ... have to look at "Buddhists" to get the root cause (materialism in thai society... the various controversies about monks and temples practices didn't help)

Nice to see that a forum for living in Thailand has problems with Thai fonts.

    Not that I can see.

Xtian missionaries are like hen's teeth around Chiangmai and Chiang Rai, they're certainly not popping out of the woodwork at you, or 'witnessing' on the streets except the two sexy young Johos who wanted to talk with me about god, just before Xmas.

A lot of hill tribes converted from animism to Xtianity, Buddhism didn't take off much in the hills.

Wake Up Buddhists is a devious vehicle for the Dhammakaya temple.
Any person reading their ridiculous allegation would know it's a stupid, provocative statement aimed at imbeciles.
The Muslims should also sue for defamation!

Why can't I respond to Member Piwanoi's post above?
I have been rejected twice, yet can still post in this sub-forum.

I don't think immigration put out figures but if you look around online, you can see estimates of 2,000 to 4,000 Christian missionaries in Chiang Mai. I don't know how accurate those numbers are but I would put more faith in them than the claims of one old man who is busy grinding an axe the size of Saturn. As I said in my deleted post, I live on a college campus in the north, and we have Christian groups coming in all the time and they put a lot of effort into befriending students. For Jeff, ENT and piwanoi, perhaps it is rare to see missionaries but I live among exactly the people who they are after so I do see them. A lot. It hardly needs to be said but I've never once seen a Muslim group here.

Why is this tedious little dickhead allowed to post where grown ups congregate? He has nothing whatsoever to add to any discussion, just more of the same repetitive, illiterate bollocks. He's already had a ton of posts chopped from this thread and it's painfully obvious that he is utterly incapable of adding anything beyond his totally predictable efforts at trolling so why not just ban him from the thread entirely?
