After a one month hiatus, the Pemberton trial began anew today.

It's the defense's turn, but they called no witnesses today.

Either they will call witnesses tomorrow, or ask for the charges to be dismissed, or Joe could plead guilty hoping that if he does so, he'll get a reduced sentence.

So what did they do all day...?

^Ate and napped. Same-same LOS.

Defense finally started Monday - two weeks late. Pemberton's mom, a nurse, testified that he was a good boy, religious, had gay friends and a lesbian sister. Brought along 22 letters from friends and family saying he was a good kid. That was it for this week's two-day opening by the defense. Hope that's not the best they've got. If it is, he should just plead out.

Seriously, though, is it just the slimy lawyer prick who is drawing this out . . . it seems both sides are getting paid by the hour

^Just the way it works (or doesn't) here. They have to conclude prior to eleven months, or the case gets tossed (under VFA), so it will crawl to completion by November.
