Body Found On Nakhon Si Thammarat Beach

    Thai PBS News
    November 14, 2014

The body of a man suspected to be the missing Swiss tourist was found on the beach in Khanom district of Nakhon Si Thammarat Friday morning.

The body was badly decomposed and could not be identified. However, his blue plant [swim pants?] is still on and there are two wrist bands and tattoos are still visible on his arms.

61-year old Mr Chamnong Srisang stumbled on the body swept on the beach as he was jogging. He then alerted the police who quickly arrived at the scene with rescue workers.

Police prohibited the rescue workers from posting the body on the social media until it could be determined who he was. The body was later sent to the forensic medicine centre in Surat Thani for examination and identification.

It was initially suspected that the body could belong to a Swiss tourist who went missing from Koh Tao in Surat Thani on November 8.

This ties back to post #2204 where the Swiss man went missing off the same beach at Koh Tao.

We can all live off memories Terry, truth is back in the day Thailand wasn't for the average punter, it was for the world wise and headstrong that could spot the violence or the scam coming. The demographic has changed, but the country hasn't. You've always said that Thailand was for the brave, now your saying that there's nothing wrong with the country, it's the punters. Sure, the kids aint got smarts, but Thailand has always been a ruthless country. Take the rosey's off mate, you're coming across as a bit of a twat.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

No need to be sorry, you're entitled to your opinion.

Someone up above said, when thailand becomes more like the real world we might leave Thailand and go to that place.

I say that's a load of wank, in my case I have the money to live where I want and so do so many other punters.

Regards that report, its still way off the mark and not representing the true picture.

So easy to write that sort of stuff.

A few tourists get murdered and the whole country turns to crap.

    I think not.

Oh he does... it's just since he's retired in LOS and looking at all the pussy in Lumpini park every day, he's lost the power of reason.

I'm getting the feeling the British cops will probably go along with this whole charade and prove to be utterly useless.

    Birmingham Six/Guildford Four/Maguire Seven anyone?

The UK investigators are professionals and will not be issuing opinions, or allowing leaks until the inquest scheduled for January 6.

I think it really is more than few tourists murdered. It's an entire system devoted to abuse of others. Rohingyas trafficked, Isaan women sold off as chattel to brothels, Karen kicked out of ancestral forests, criticism criminalised, the constant coup, Prattles Friday night sermons, the morality passport, Thaksin into the memory hole. etc etc etc ...

All this is adding up and unlike a decade ago, is out there to be seen by all. I have no doubt Thailand will at some point cut itself off from the WWW and start its own internet- it will have to, it simply will become known as too great a farce in the international community otherwise.

    You're an idiot.
Russia is falling over itself to engage with them. China is throwing money at them.
    ASEAN isn't saying boo.
Japan is playing ball and the US has restarted military aid and cooperation and saying nothing about dealing with Dictators.

My mistake posting that report, it is not relevant to this case but was put up on CSI LA 90210 as an example of Thai autopsy. Apologies

    Disagree.

You can disagree all you like, it doesn't change the fact that the international community, far from disparaging the coup leaders and the country is doing everything possible to engage with them.
ASEAN is a collection of Dictators.
The US, Japan and Europe (to a lessor degree) want to stop Chinese influence growing.
Russia needs the trade to offset sanctions.
China is doing all it can to bring LOS into is's sphere of influence.
It's all hunky dory for Thailand in the international world.
The handling of a couple of murders is not going to change anything and any of the gobbdlygook spouted by ministers in the local press is not noticed much less read by anyone outside the country.

If only they realised the value of press freedom in rooting out corruption. That was their stated aim wasn't it?

I agree, and the insults are not necessary- Govts do not care about people. I was speaking of public opinion, it is sinking and will sink further and I am enjoying Thailand floundering with criticism it can no longer control.

No need to trash YOrlov because you don't really understand what he is saying, guys...He has summed it up pretty well...

Just as this whole case differs from other nasty crimes, it won't just go away, and it is still out there in the public eye, and the dumb fcks just can't make it go away quickly enough, and it frustrates their monkey brains to no end...

Don't talk about other countries and international trade, etc...That's boring shit which we understand already...We know how it works...

There is a lot more exposure and the public does see it for what it is, and Thailand's image is further damaged whether you care or not...

^ Sounds nice but the reality is bollox.
It;s already out of the news cycle and unless the UK escalates by withdrawing/expelling diplomats and imposing travel and trade sanctions this will fade into just another incident than happens hundreds of times in hundreds of countries,
Next year's Gap Year travellers will never of heard or consider it in their plans.

    No

Mr and Mrs Smith in Farang Country haven't got the knowledge and interest in Thai affairs that you do.

If you want to make a difference, then make a signature for your posts stating:" If you are planning to spend your holiday in Koh Tao, do yourself a favour and look out for the murderous predators on the loose there" and a link.

Just you would go number 1 on Google !

The kids would get it, if the first link they got was to a murder case rather than snorkeling and beach parties

Its all over the news again this Sunday here in the UK, centered around Australian author John Stapleton's book 'Thailand Deadly Destination' this story is not going away soon. If goes a little quiet over Christmas it will soon be front page again in January when the inquest into the murders reveal the UK police findings.
