One trend you see is that it took incredible pressure from outside of Thailand to get conviction in the solved cases.

When I was a Backpacker I felt far safer in Asia than getting around my own country.
Actually even today I feel safer in Asia than Australia. The crime here is quite alarming and getting much worse.
