Plugging up those holes as they go along. Problem is, it may well be sufficient for domestic consumption but no one in possession of their faculties would find it credible.

It simply worsens by the day.

I just hope someone is informing the families of what is going on and I don't mean some Foereign Office shill.

Plugging holes is a good analogy, but it never works. With all the scrutiny this case has gotten, do they really think that a guilty party would leave a phone near their cabin? Fear and paranoia would have that thing buried miles away.

The slow witted retards who commit these crimes act on their unsophisticated and primeval instincts, just like a small brained animal. They have no plan as such. The consequences that might result from their actions do not figure in their thought processes.

What is surprising is that the phone was actually discarded and not kept and used as a trophy.

    So whats this about then

Suspect Zaw Rim, 21, took Miller's phone from his shorts pocket, according to national police chief Somyat Pumpanmuang.
He planned to keep the phone for his personal use before discovering it was not compatible with Thailand's mobile phone networks.
He allegedly then decided to smash the black iPhone 4 before discarding it in his home, the Bangkok Post has reported.

Zaw Rim and Win, both 21, have been detained in Koh Samui prison since Saturday after allegedly admitting that they had raped and killed Ms Witheridge after watching her and Mr Miller hugging and kissing on September 15.
Both workers from Myanmar have been charged with premeditated murder, rape, theft and illegal entry into Thailand.
The men were charged with the murders of both Britons - a charge which carries the death penalty - after their DNA matched samples taken from Ms Witheridge’s body.
The breakthrough followed intense scrutiny of Thai authorities, which was accused - in criticism led by the British media - of bungling the investigation in the days after the crime.

I would assume, if the phone was smashed (or locked) they didn't know whose it was.
Perhaps it took them time to get it hacked or analysed.

Ironic, police have revealed fatal mistakes in midget ninja's plan... while revealing to us (both Western and Thais) the gaping flaws in their plan - throughout this botched clusterfuck case.

Reports coming in of Miller's phone being in early photographs and airline records from Samui showing travel of someone in the headmans's family. Will be another interesting 24 hours of developments.

edit: Weren't the police adamant early on that robbery was not a motive as no phones or wallets were missing?

    https://teakdoor.com/thailand-and-asi...ml#post2863547

Te pants are refereed to as being found in one suspect's apartment (Wade)

The phone is said to have been found in another suspects home (from the use of "home" we can assume the burmese)....

The 3 burmese and wade were in the frame at this point.

    Mourners remember Thai murder victim

David Miller's funeral cortege outside Holy Trinity Church

The funeral of David Miller, the Jersey islander murdered in Thailand, has taken place on the island.

The 24 year-old's funeral was preceded by a memorial service at Holy Trinity Church attended by family and friends.

Mr Miller was murdered on the island of Koh Tao with fellow traveller Hannah Witheridge, 23, of Hemsby, Norfolk, on 15 September.

Two suspects from Myanmar have been arrested by Thai police, who say the pair have confessed.

David Miller's wicker coffin was adorned with sunflowers

Friends and family of Mr Miller paid tribute and sang hymns during the afternoon before the family held a private funeral ceremony elsewhere.

Mr Miller was carried in a wicker coffin adorned with sunflowers.

The memorial service, led by Reverend Ian Pallent, also included a performance of Bob Dylan's song Forever Young.

David Miller's family asked mourners not to wear black

Mr Pallent told BBC News: "David was such a colourful character; a man of life, energy and vitality.

"Whilst there is great sadness that someone so young has died, this is about a celebration of his life, to give thanks to God for the impact he made.

"What we will do today and all through the next few months is show love: love to his parents, to his brother, all his friends and the rest of his family."

In a statement on Wednesday, Mr Miller's family said he "brightened up their world" and they would miss him terribly.

Mr Miller worked as an intern in the St Helier offices of Australian mining company Consolidated Minerals.

He was returning from a placement in Australia when he stopped off in Thailand for a holiday.

Forensics experts in Bangkok said they found, and are now DNA-testing, blonde hairs in Witheridge's right hand. Police also found a pair of Ware's blood-stained pants from in Miller's luggage and an Apple iPhone with long blonde hairs snagged on it.

None of this endless speculation is going to make any difference. Nor will the petitions. It's over. Forget about it. They're dead almost three weeks now. The Thai have the conclusion desired. It's done. Just another sordid tale from the LOS.

Seems the story has changed again..

A senior police official was just on Sorayuth Suthassanachinda's evening news show on Channel 3 and he explained exactly how they found David Miller's phone. He said they knew quickly that it was missing from his body from information gained from David's friends and relatives, but this was not made public. Later, after the two suspects were detained and they confessed to the crime, police asked about the phone. One of the suspects said he had left it with a friend and when the friend was questioned he led them to the phone. He had become suspicious of the origin of the phone and he threw it away behind his living quarters. Hannah'' phone, had earlier been returned to her relatives, the officer said.
