Don't forget your 90 day form

Just thought I'd post this since the time has come around again. You can download the form at this link. It's the TM47 form. For some reason using OpenOffice I couldn't get the form to fit on one page. Not sure what the reason is. I printed up the PDF and filled it out. Just thought I'd post this for those who have to keep Big Brother informed.

Thanks for reminding, I have to do this week, first time for 2 years.

By the way, agree not to plant babies, they don't grow so good in the dirt.

    Maybe, bit harsh.

It's not a difficult thing to do though.

    only takes five minutes.

The fine is 2k if you "surrender" or 5k if you are caught plus 200 baht per day

I was at immigration last week and a guy next to me required three day extension on his tourist visa because his airlines switched his departure day.

"One-thousand nine hundred baht," she said with a straight face.

I almost fell out of my chair.

    Thanks for the form, Rattanaburi.

I have been told that all I need to do is report to the imigration and at the airport and that is sufficient and according to the law. As I travel regularly overseas I somehow meet the 90 day requirements or so I thought.

Do you have to fill this TM47 document everytime and after the 90 day period?

Only if you stay in Thailand for 90 days. If you leave, the 90 days starts from the date you reenter Thailand.

I'm lucky, I have someone at the office take care of this for me now (incl. taking my passport/form in for reporting).

Prior to that I was constantly forgetting about it and paying the B2,000 fine each time.

The fee for an extension is not based on how many days it covers.
It is a processing/handling fee and a one year extension is also 1900 baht.

I think you will find that you'll have to pay 5000 baht if they catch you during the year, the requirement of 90 days reporting has no exceptions.
There is no negating of the need to report every 90 days.

some people have more money than sense.

how hard is it to get yourself down to immigration all of 5 minutes away from your place.
they even give you 7 days grace.

    some people??

The form along with appropriate copies can also be mailed in to avoid the 5 minute walk.

Not hard at all, if you remember about it.

Oddly enough though, I do seem to vaugely recall telling you the same thing not so long ago... ?

    As a clarification to Klongy:

You can save 3 x 2000 baht in late reporting fees by only fronting up once a year.
It doesn't make you legal during the year.

Ah, the advantages of living in a metropolis like CM. For us peasants, a two hour drive is the norm.
