    I suppose if I could get a work permit w/o a degree, I would consider full-time work.

I would rather not work that much, but if it could make things legal for me, I think it would be worth it.

I haven't spent the time looking for ads, I figured I would wait until I get back from the course.

learn the market. legality will be a stretch in the part of the market you can easily access.

I'm part time and I have one. I'm not a teacher though, dunno about them. I don't see why how many days per week you work would affect this, isn't based on business needs and minimum salary etc?

cost issue basically. all the work permits are full time for teachers and there is no discount for part timers. if you pay for your own then no one would care. this is my understanding anyway.

If you have two years of college do you qaulify for an Associates degree? If so you might be able to get that from the college you attended, and it will be real.

Filing false documents is what gets you in trouble from the beginning, so avoid that, apply see if the school can in fact get you a work permit. If the can you are legal.

Yes it will limit your prospects, but it sound like your really not trying to make your living just from this.

Living in Isan we are always offered theching positions, I guess some may require Bachelors degrees but most are alive and breathing.

I'm on a retirment visa, so no work permit. I may go ahead and change it to a Marriage visa, so I can get one. This is my home and in order to get a resident permit you have to show a work permit and a taxes paid into the system.

That would be my motiviation. I have enough income, but a little more wouldn't hurt a thing LOL

    Good Luck

Unless the fee for the work permit is outrageous, I don't see a problem paying for it. It would be cheaper and more convenient than doing border runs every month.

I have a certificate in Computer Programming, and most of the AA courses finished. I was working on programming, received my certificate, started working on an AA, then stopped.

The certificate looks nice, but it's not a 'Bachelor's Degree'. Still, a school might look at it along with a TEFL and give me a little more bargaining room (I hope).

20 hours a week is 'full time', even though it would be considered part-time in any other profession.

If you are happy to work outside of Bangkok or any other major centre, then you will usually be able to get a work permit without a degree.

You could try 'easier' degrees and one that is most appropriate in a Thai classroom:

BA (Hons) Degree in Circus Arts

The Circus Space - The UK's Premier Circus School

    OR

    Professional Martial Arts Degree

INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF HIGHER MARTIAL ARTS EDUCATION

Is that necessarily true? Why border runs every month - are you coming on Visa Exemption?

And don't you still have to perform visa runs every 90 days with a Cat 'B' - even if you have a work permit?

No, you don't. In theory, the permission to stay is extended to coincide with the duration of your work permit. All you need to do is report to immigration every 90 days.
