quite funny boon, regardless, the OWS do have a point, the TP were just raving RWA lunatics
Michael Moore’s Massive Michigan Vacation Mansion Beyond 99 Percent’s Wildest Dreams
Heh, as someone recently said, "His fat ass wouldn't fit into a 99% home"
Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore has been touring Occupy Wall Street demonstrations across the country — including some of the most violent, such as Occupy Oakland — urging activists to continue their fight against the wealthy “one percent” of Americans.
Initially, Moore tried to deny that his massive wealth made him a member of that one percent. Even when forced to admit the obvious, Moore suggested that he was not always among the one percent, based on his income: “Other years, like last year, I don’t have a job (no movie, no book) and so I make a lot less.”
The fact is that Moore is so wealthy that he does not need to worry about his income. According to public tax records, Moore owns a massive vacation home on Torch Lake, Michigan — one of the most elite communities in the United States — in addition to his posh Manhattan residence.
Through an independent source, Big Hollywood has obtained exclusive photographs of the house matching the address of Moore’s waterfront mansion. It is the kind of luxurious summer home that 99 percent of Americans can only dream of owning."
What we have here folks is another example of Lefty hypocricy gone wild. How many 99% ers can afford $16K USD in property taxes, eh?

Michael Moore is wealthy. That's a fact. He worked much harder than most people posting on this board. Capitalism has rewarded him unlike the others out there who wait for government cheese.
Indeed he does. Watch it for it is good!![]()
This one is a Hoot!
Boonme, no shit people create corporations. Do you really think all Americans can join the 1%? Did Gingrich actually do anything that was outside of politics to pay his bills? Did he create jobs with his own money? The clip offers nothing but Gingrich singing to his own people. Republicans obviously think all is honky dory in the US in terms of the economy. Wait until 6 months before the election when they start talking about debt, deficits, bailouts, and so many unemployed again. They are making this economy just as much as Obama.
"There's no democracy in a monetary system because the more money you have, the more advantage you can get. The illusion of democracy is an insult to our intelligence. In a monetary system, there is no such thing as a true democracy, and there never was.”

After several months exposure to the brave new world of "occupy everywhere" I'm beginning to see change. I received a notice from the Canadian tax department yesterday stating that I had a refund. A cheque for $43.82 was enclosed. Apparently I had a GST credit. Wow....the wealth is spreading.
I have also noticed some commonality between the Tea Party and the Occupiers.
They both have a compliment of complete nut cases. The Tea party has approximately 0.5% nut cases. The Occupiers have approximately 99.5% nut cases. Still it is a common denominator ....I suppose.
Many occupiers wish to abolish capitalism, but they don't say what they would like as a replacement. Maybe a bit of Stalinism; or Maoism' or Polpotism' or Castroism. Lots to choose from.... but I really don't think they would enjoy any of these alternatives. They really did not work well for dope smoking anarchist types any better than capitalism....even the crony kind.
Still, I've got my $43.82 from the government of Canada...... damn good start I'd say.
PS In Victoria BC....a small "occupy" has resulted in two heroin overdoses....one death. Seems protesting against capitalism has a higher casualty rate than the Afghan war... if you view it on a per-capita basis.
This is in a country and province where no banks failed, unemployment is 3-4% below US levels and there are virtually no home foreclosures, and they already have well established government health care and a completely solvent social security program.........they don't even know what they are protesting about, so they just say that it's to "support" the Wall St protesters.
Good observation. Don't think it is 99.5% for occupiers. But if you look at most groups you can find that they will attract loonies to them. For example, the military obviously would attract people who want to kill others. They'd do it whether or not they had the military to offer them the chance. Wall street attracts the greediest people that are out there. Welfare attracts the laziest.I have also noticed some commonality between the Tea Party and the Occupiers.

edited - just a bit too cruel on my part.

Here's a good clip on the events that happened at the occupy protests such as that veteran commiting suicide and the other death.

One thing the Teabaggers and OWS have in common is a shared discontentment with the way things are. But you can't help noticing the average age difference. OWS are usually from the generation that has been sold downstream- Teabaggers usually from the generation that sold them there.
The Tea party should really be paying more attention to paying it's Bills, rather than acting as shill's for Amerka's pampered rich. They had jobs to go to and free education- but their children often don't. At the end of the day, I think OWS represents a wide variety of people who are pissed off because their national inheritance has been squandered, irresponsibly and selfishly. I'd have more respect for the Tea party if they were more focused on paying it back, but all I see is selfishness and fiscal irresponsibility, just like the pampered rich that sponsor and manipulate them.

^ Very true. The teabaggers are the real hypocrites here. They are mostly retired or soon to be and collect Social Security and use Medicare. Yet they want to strip it away from the younger generations. Shills is right. The poster above you happens to be one.
I would fit the Teabagger generation profile quite well, but I'm not a teabagger and I agree that their approach is self serving and frankly out of touch; although their "patriotism" is impressive in a Hollywood kind of way.
I'm just as "discontented" with the way things have unravelled as the "occupiers" seem to be. The difference is that I don't think living in a tent, in a park, shooting dope, shitting on cars and being a pain in the ass to everyone in the area is going to solve anything....except for the police, who will greatly benefit from the overtime pay.
The "movenent" such as it is, clearly is becoming hijacked by radical elements who are hell bent of distruction. Calling for the destruction of the whole capitalist system is a pretty clear indicator that these folks don't even know what capitalist means, and they seem to know even less about the true nature of the alternatives.
I saw a clip on TV recently. A young woman (occupier) 29 years of age. She had spent 6 years in the Army. She was stating how the government had "failed" her. There was no high paying job waiting for her when she left the Army. She could not find work or decent housing etc. She was headed back to school to qualify herself for the new-age workforce. She was going to study "Middle East History". I bet every corporation in American will just be busting their asses to hire her when she graduates. At the same time there is a looming shortage of skilled labour right across North America. 10 years from now you won't be able to find a qualified industrial electrician, or plumber, or auto mechanic, but there will be a great abundance of 39 year old women with intimate knowledge of Middle Eastern History.......and we will have to hire a tradesman from Eastern Europe or God knows where. That is how out of touch this generation is.
Middle Eastern Studies or Transgender Black History - doesn't make any difference. Like you say, this spoiled generation is way out of touch. Plus, when this gal gets her sheepskin she'll want the government to forgive her student loans.
Fortunately, these leeches are only the vocal minority. The 99% are out there taking any job they can to support themselves w/out crying like babies - "I'm entitled!"
This could not be more incorrect or out of touch. There are TONS of plumbers, mechanics and electricians out of work right now all across the US. These are not growing areas of employment in fact they are declining. How the hell are electricians and plumbers supposed to get work with almost no new construction in the US? I know of many of these guys who are retraining right now to get out of the construction trades.Originally Posted by koman

Hypocrites like boontard who collect SS and use universal health care in Thailand while railing against those programs back home are just pathetic.Your comments contribute nothing to solving the core problems that have been but forward in this thread many times.
Being able to get a good job is not an entitlement. Boontards social security check is an entitlement one that he wants to keep for himself and take away from others.
Your hyperbole masks a real concern that there not enough people getting degrees in math and engineering. However, tuition fees have gone up 800% since 1980 and the average college graduate starts out $24,000 in the hole. 85% of recent college graduates end up going back to live with their parents. We have a national problem, people are frustrated. Calling them cry babies is hardly a constructive contribution to the debate we should be having about education in the US.Originally Posted by Boon Mee

^Your hypocrisy is astounding and most pathetic. The only douche that needs splashing is you.![]()
