^ Come on Edison, tell us how to judge when the gauge wire is correct on the string of Christmas lights everyone hangs on their kids Christmas tree.

Guess you want to go back to eating lead paint chips like in the good old days.

It doesn't take a college education to judge whether a string of lights might be dodgy so perhaps we're talking about Darwin, eh?

You are missing the point, dear.

The government was never intended to supplement the decisions made by a free people to chose whatever path they proceed upon.

The more government intrudes upon ones's life, the more they become dependent upon it.

    It's come to this:

Boy Scouts Ban Water-Gun Fights Because Squirt Guns Are ‘Simulated Firearms’

Pointing any type of firearm or simulated firearm at any individual is unauthorized,” states the group’s 2015 manual. “Water guns and rubber band guns must only be used to shoot at targets, and eye protection must be worn,” it continues. As for those other dangerous weapons, water balloons, they may be “no larger than a ping-pong ball” and must be biodegradable. Sound like a bit much? Well, according to Bryan Wendell, authort of the blog Bryan on Scouting, there’s a actually perfectly logical explanation:

“A Scouter once told me this explanation I liked quite a bit: ‘A Scout is kind. What part of pointing a firearm [simulated or otherwise] at someone is kind?” True point,” he writes. After all — it’s not like water guns are totally banned! You still can use them to shoot at targets! I mean, as long as you wear protective eyewear! Oh, and by the way — the targets are also not allowed to look like humans either. Just to be, you know, extra safe or something."

They're popping out of the woodwork like crazy!

NJ 5TH GRADER SUSPENDED FOR HAVING NERF GUN ‘BULLET’ IN HIS POCKET

On May 8, Atlantic City, New Jersey, 5th grader Aarin Moody reached into his pocket to retrieve a “late note” from his mother and a Nerf gun foam “bullet” fell out. Officials at the Atlantic City School District categorized the toy bullet as a “self-constructed weapon” because “it had a toothpick stuck in it.”

As a result, Moody received “a five-day, in-school suspension and a notation on his permanent record stating that he brought a makeshift weapon to school.”

Then quit using the roads, dependent one. Or the water and sewer systems, your healthcare (heard you got Obamacare), relying on the courts to settle disputes, etc. Please send the address of the new cave you will be living in so I can be sure to avoid it.

Who on earth in their right minds would blame them? Someone has to protect these kids from the police.

In November, Tamir Rice was shot near his home two seconds after police exited their vehicle to confront the pre-teen, who was holding a toy gun.

"According to Fox News, the 5th grader put toothpicks in the Nerf bullets “so they would stick to the ground when he fired them from his Nerf gun.” Moody said he did not put the toothpicks in to cause mischief."

He deserves the suspension for being a lying little shit (most probable) or a gormless twat (possible).

Next up for you big government lovers!

S'mores no more? Feds wage war of culinary aggression

The USDA wants Americans to remove chocolate and marshmallows and fire from our summertime s’mores. Instead - the USDA is suggesting we load up the graham crackers with strawberries and low-fat yogurt.

That's not a s'more. That's a fruit salad with an oversized graham cracker crouton.

Over the past six years the Obama administration has waged a War of Culinary Aggression against lard-loving Americans.

What kind of dystopian society have we become where a red blooded American cannot enjoy a graham cracker smothered in milk chocolate and topped with a slightly charred marshmallow?"

A fucking great big fat one.

And yet, according to Gallup, Americans are fatter than ever before. Twenty-seven percent of the population is obese. That's an all-time high.

So the government is going to step in and regulate what Americans can eat?

This nanny state buzzword is all the latest rage. Is there a specific point at which a state moves into the nanny zone or is nannyism in the eye of the beholder.

    Is it nanny to:
    Impose traffic speed limits?
    Require businesses to be licensed?
    Allow minorities equal rights?
    Impose food quality standards?
    Impose building standards?

    And on, and on.

Just asking. Enquiring minds want to know.

Well, since you asked - Mooch's Meals in the schools definitely qualifies for the Nanny State.

Ever seen that show "man versus food". While most of the massive servings of heart attack he eats look disgustingly delicious, food will win in the end.
I see why the government is doing this though.
If they're going to introduce universal healthcare a healthy population will save them a lot.
If your average Yank knows he has healthcare regardless i think they'll eat whatever they want.

But these fat seppos are gorging on 99 cent burgers that in fact are 90% fat, 9% gizzards and 1% simulated meat.

And they're too dumb to notice.

YOUR government has been dictating what you can and cannot eat for decades . . .

But then I guess prohibiting dangerous chemicals to be used as flavour enhancers is a bit nanny-state-ish . . . same goes for using deadly pesticides to grow food . . .
