I've looked at the website. The man's a lunatic, no question about it. His website could be used by University Psychiatry Departments as a training aid during lectures on paranoid schizophrenia. As for 2012, I've never met a 2012 doomsday believer who's understood the first thing about the Mayan calendar. As far as I know there isn't anybody who understands all that much about the Mayan calendar. This is just another hysterical doomsday scenario that only serves to highlight the superstitious miasma many people still live in and that too many people have too much spare time on their hands.

Well there you go DR Bob has trashed the thread ,
So all my experiances (not from books)
means nowt,
40 years trashed by a 3rd dimensional DR Spock "for all i know"
so be it.
I started this thread to inspire a rational discussion about existance,
What a silly thing to do on this forum
lesson learned, no more
40 years experience of what? Mayan calendar construction? I presume you mean 40 years experience of life. That's hardly special, is it? All living people have experience of life. Most dead people too. Telling us that you deliberately avoid one particular source of knowledge doesn't impress either. 3rd DimensionalAre you telling us you're not 3D? Really?
Your op says "look at this site". I looked at the site. It's a site run by somebody who's obviously mentally ill and it deals with a silly apocalyptic theory. The author tells us that a diet of fruit and vegetables led him to the staggering conclusion that the world was about to end. Rational? Your OP doesn't say anything about "rational discussion about existance". If you want to discuss existence rationally (and I think you might be over-reaching there) then discuss it. A link to a crazy-man's website and constantly repeating "I DON,T KNOW" is not a discussion about anything. This is a thread about a nonsensical theory that has no basis in rationality and whose only relation to existence is that it it exists.

So why ? your Supreme Arrogance Why would anyone discuss something that you have trashed simply based on your bias,Originally Posted by DrB0b

something else your Wonderfulness,
like many 'intellectuals' ??? you use the phrases "I read' "I was told" "I understand"
"I think" "I deduce"
but you never say I 'experianced'
so it,s / you are 2nd hand me thinks,
Did a thread on you 2 weeks ago, I experiananced that I was correct don,t ya think , maybe you might disagree.
From the little I know about the Mayan calendar subject, it seems they believed the earth moved in cycles. They seemed to be aware (or just plain guessing) that the earth has gone through many extreme (maybe not too extreme on a cosmic scale) instances.
The idea that the poles will shift, isnt such a crazy idea. I forget the guys name, but, he is a Dr from princeton, or some such place. Anyway, by taking rock samples from various places round the world, he concluded that the world has indeed shifted its poles before. However, this had happened over a very long period of time, and not a sudden shift as the doomsayers might have you believe.
For me, it just seems certain groups hijack ancient predictions in order to serve their own needs. Just look at Nostrandamus.
I aint superstitious, but I know when somethings wrong
I`ve been dragging my heels with a bitch called hope
Let the undercurrent drag me along.
Understanding, thought, and deduction are based on experience. I should have thought that was obvious.
That thread told you that you were wrong. Almost every post on there disagreed with you. Would you like to start it up again to prove your point? Feel free. Here's the link https://teakdoor.com/members-only/654...ul-fellow.html

As long as it ends on Monday morning before the alarm goes off. Would be a bummer if it ended on Friday afternoon.
