without even checking, i can guarantee that professional wrestling got millions more viewers than this woman.

TBH, i've never understood why some people get so excited about the ratings of fox news. it's bizarre.

"yeah! newscorp can now charge more for advertising than comcast! whoo hooo!"
"yeah! newscorp is making more money than time warner! yes!"

it's almost as if they think that these ratings numbers somehow validate their political ideology...but the cold hard facts are that we're talking about ~2 million geriatrics in a country of over 300 million people.

and it's also ironic that they're constantly bleating on about the 'mainstream media'....if foxnews really is the biggest and best....how are they not part of the mainstream media?

FYI....there's only one national 'ratings' competition that counts, and it happens every four years. the dems won handily in the last two, and i haven't seen anything to make me think they won't win again in the next one.

one last fun fact....someone did a research study a few years back and foxnews viewers were found to be amongst the least informed consumers of news.

A poll by Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey showed that of all the news channels out there, Fox News viewers are the least informed. People were asked questions about news habits and current events in a statewide poll of 600 New Jersey residents recently. Results showed that viewers of Sunday morning news shows were the most informed about current events, while Fox News viewers were the least informed.



In fact, FDU poll results showed they were even less informed than those who say they don’t watch any news at all.

I have explained this countless times before. Progressives don't typically watch cable news. They tend to read or listen to NPR. Conservatives mainly look to the television.

The flip-side to your hard-core Fox New addicts are the LIV's who watch MSNBC and get their talking points from MoveOn.org, Media Matters and such. The Peggy Joseph's of America who firmly believed Obama was going to put gas in her tank and pay her mortgage.

Back when I lived in the States, believe it or not, I would tune in to the McNeil Leher News Hour but, to tell the truth, you gotta be a hard-core Progressive (or looking for a cure for insomnia) not to fall asleep 15 min. into that program...

^ I am convinced this is related to their absolute certainty of victory in the general election last year and their total confusion when it didn't happen.

There is some sort of state of denial in which they dwell.

The logic seems to be something like "THE MAINSTREAM MSM MEDIA CAN'T BE TRUSTED. SEE? THEY HAD TO FIRE DAN RATHER FOR LYING. NOBODY AT FOX NEWS HAS EVER BEEN FIRED FOR LYING, THEREFORE IT'S REAL NEWS."

When reality intrudes they simply conclude that they failed because they weren't conservative enough and lurch even farther to the right.

Megyn Kelly’s new primetime show jumped 38 percent with total viewers to 2.8 million and a whopping 116 percent among adults 25-54 to 623,000.
The numbers not only bested combined competition from CNN’s Piers Morgan and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Kelly also scored the rare distinction of topping lead-in and reigning cable news champ Bill O’Reilly in the key demographic — by about 45,000 viewers.

For the night, Fox News averaged 2.43 million viewers and 508,949 adults 25-54. Closest competition MSNBC, which scored key demo wins on Monday in all hours but 8 p.m., averaged 958,420 viewers and 264,277 adults 25-54. Third-place CNN posted 577,591 viewers and 173,321 adults.

Since I don't get Fox News from True Visions the only option besides Bloomberg, CNBC, BBC is CNN so it's quite refreshing to see they will keep Piers Morgan on that channel! My evening news hour wouldn't be complete w/out getting a dose of him!

Presumably you are aware that Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of FOX news endorsed Maddow's book, and Falafel O'Reilly was forced to settle a sexual harrassment suit out of court filed by a woman who was a FOX employee?
