It's going to be interesting to see how the war on terror is prosecuted after GWB is gone. I guess we'll be back to the more "sensitive" methods ... maybe if we ignore it then it will go away and not embolden the terrorists. Maybe we'll start breaking the law by assassinating people as suggested by surasak. Once again I feel thankful to have at least had a President for 8 years and a majority supporting Coingress and Senate to put some bombs on target terrorist asses.
"how the war on terror is prosecuted"
- an interesting use of language, unintentional I am sure.
But that's what I think should happen, prosecute those who are (ir)responsible with their fearmongering and systematic violation of international law and the US constiturion.
It's going to get worse for sure. It would be payback time for GW Bush multiple failures. You are going to pay for his mistakesOriginally Posted by Storekeeper

This entire concept of a "War on Terror" is what is disturbing.
This "War on Terror" doesn't involve much military. Some special ops, and some military action, of course.
But for the most part it's an organization(s) of individuals and are planning these crimes.
Major military force isn't needed. Just enough force to capture and apprehend.
The legal system and methods of trial are the real war on terror.
............
As of November 6, 2006: 16 U.S. casualties for far.
Haven't read much in the papers. The average is only
2.67 as of today.
Chart won't work: see the site.

NY Times Confirms Iraq Had a Nuclear Weapons Program
"You have to chuckle when, in its attack-du-jour on the Bush administration, the NY Times now concedes that Iraq did in fact have a nuclear weapons program. I guess all that "Bush lied!" stuff was just bunk. Of course, the NYT couches this all, as usual, as another blunder by the Bush junta, which would have all of America under its boot if not for the heroic efforts of the almighty Times."
See that red link ... click on it commies.
And it wasn't a question whether the knowledge to make nukes and other WMDs was there - they had the knowledge already in the 80s, but whether they were getting on with building the darn things in 2003.
The US and the Brits supplied the technology and components during the 80s.
As the linked article pointed out: just because you know how to get from A to B doesn't mean you have to ability to do so.
If having nuclear information was a basis for invading Iraq then why are we doing nothing against those (any nation) that already has nukes? Maybe because none of the other nuclear powers are oil rich (except for Russia)?
Just what we need ... another nuclear arms race.
And while we're tied down in a place of no importance the real threats are just chugging away. Isn't a strategic blunder just wonderful?
It is of no importance when there are better ways to solve the issue:
Buying more oil from our friends.
Mandating conservation and efficiency.
Taking the hundreds of billions wasted on this war and putting it towards research to develop energy sources which are our own.
I guess asking 3,000 people to sacrifice their lives is easier than getting people to be more responsible.
He knows damn well Saddam had two of the three ingredients and was actively pursuing the third.
I can't believe these yahoos can only keep screaming about how they were duped over WMDs ... who gives a fuck ? Saddam violated UN sanctions for a decade ... diplomacy wasn't working. International law seems to mean nothing when it came to Saddam Hussein.
So, we break international law then to stop him? LOL @ the irony of that.
He might have been working on them so we invade him and depose him. NK, on the other hand, explodes one and we do nothing.
Is it because NK has no oil?
^ LOL SK, in a corner you are, again !!!
