Obama's 30-minute Truman Show special makes him look worse than Palin, IMO. America's saviour and utopia coming! I think he got the script from Kim Jong Il.

Umm, that's not possible . . . but at least you finally admit that Palin is a shockerOriginally Posted by Jet Gorgon

No wonder the reference is always to leftist intellectuals . . . while anti-intellectualism is reserved for the likes of you and your ilk

That whole show was Disneyland.
Come to me all who are sick, poor, jobless, and in need of hope (even if you overspent, are a lazy git, ate your way to 300lbs and need diabetic care, and want a free handout) and I will save you if you vote for me!
Beware the offer of utopia.

Please quote the relevant passages that refer to your, usual, childish and unverifiable rants.
Oh, hang on -
it's a s close to the truth as your 'unionised blue-collar workers are bleeding the country dry' crap . . . .

Oh, please, hatter, if you believed the crap BO expounded in that teary-eyed show, you are truly pathetic. I particulary laughed at the mom with all the kids driving the big SUV and showing the empty shelves in her big fridge where *sob* the kids only get so many snacks per week now and when they are gone, well *sob* you have to learn to economise.
The sad sob story about BO's mom and getting up at 4:30am to go through his studies were also heart wrenching. *sob* That's it, get the WHITE mom photos in there. See, honey, his mom was white.
That whole show was for uneducated, low-income folks who had to wait to watch the World Series (ya! the Phillies won). Brilliant PR campaign. Nothing more.
As for the blue-collar unions. Sorry, I did forget about that thread. I stand by my claim tho. Sure, union membership has gone down. Why? Companies shifted plants overseas to save costs. You don't make money capitulating to employee demands when the market is changing.
For those US firms that stay based in the US, look what's happening. Here's Boeing. The machinists union has feked the company's 787 rollout with its strike, never mind the company's defense contracts. For money? No, those guys say they make lots of money. They are striking for job security. FO. What is that? Squeeze the company too hard and it will go tits up and you will definitely have NO job. Look at the auto, steel, mfg industries. And the people cry because the jobs go overseas. Ya, wake up. Help your company be more competitive instead of just doing the same dam job you started 30 years ago and now expect to make ten times more than the youngster doing the same dam job, just because you have "seniority".
Unions create a culture of us against them. Trash them.
And since you are so happy at the prospect of the US having a black prez, hatter, I would like to ask you about Australia. Any abos in parliament? Can you tell me why it's OK that Oz companies raped East Timor?
right now, there is little more boring than the hat and jet slugfest.
Ant and Keda is running a close second but this is just silly and there's no sign of it ending.
where's the issues mods?

I don't know why you picked the Sarah Palin thread to share your opinion of BO's 30 minute infomercial Jet, but your attitude, whilst predictable, does not seem to be matched by most AmericansOriginally Posted by Jet Gorgon

An infomercial on behalf of Mr. Obama was a smashing ratings success on Wednesday night, proving to be more popular than even the final game of the World Series — and last season’s finale of “American Idol.” The audience for Mr. Obama’s program far exceeded the expectations of television executives — and many political pundits who questioned whether Mr. Obama was engaging in overkill in buying a half hour on so many networks....
During a season where television hits are hard to find, one NBC executive suggested jokingly Wednesday that Mr. Obama might be invited back to fill the 8 p.m. Wednesday time slot on a regular basis.

Along with his inauguration speech, I'm sure Obama is already writing his first state of the union address. It may be the first a President has used the term FUBAR in a speech.Originally Posted by Milkman

I didn't see the infomercial but I read headlines and reviews from a bunch of newspapers this morning and they all think it was a success, some even call it genius.Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

Allow me to quote the Messiah himself on some of those 'promises'The guy is completely delusional as those who believe his rhetoric...

- "end those breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas";
- "give tax breaks to companies that invest right here in the United States";

- "invest $15 billion a year in renewable sources of energy to create five million new energy jobs over the next decade";
- "reopen old factories, old plants, to build solar panels, and wind turbines";

- "end this war in Iraq";

A Deplorable Bitter Clinger

^ I actually watched it, unusual for me. What can I say- slick, empathetic, professional, rational, feel good- kinda like Obama himself. Obama is telegenic in a way McCain can never be, so he might as well use it.
Removing politics from the equation, I think you've really got to give Obamas campaign kudos for it's sheer professionalism, comprehensiveness, and willingness to try new things. Apart from the 30 minute infomercial, he's also advertised on video/computer games- another first, and of course his 'Fight the smears' website. Then theres the superb ground up organisation of the Obama party machine- which clearly could not have just happened overnight. Kudos.

^ True. Very pro campaign and his prettyboy looks don't hurt. But, as a voter, I'd be looking for qualities of leadership -- who gives a toss if BO makes tunafish sannies for his fam (featured on 60 Minutes). I'd want the person that can make immediate decisions in a crisis and lead the country back to prosperity. Making a tuna sannie is not indicative of that. I also wonder why he never put any vignettes of poor black/Hispanic ghetto folks in his infomercial. Alienate the white voters?
