and apparently the defense being put up by her supporters is that it helps her depression.

    what?
so? whats the problem? actually that's quite plausible ray. ever heard of a common condition that affects people from the north who don't get enough sunlight, it's known as "cabin fever" and does create depression in many people and is a leading cause of suicide, doesn't make her a bad person, nor is it anything to be ashamed of, she is treating it..

a dose of ultraviolet from such a bed would be a very valid way of treating it, it just goes to show that she is human, don't see any problem with that in spite of you trying to make it one..

at least she's getting treatment unlike some here who could use a good dose of lithium and refuse to seek help..

    dear driving force,

i know we've had our differences, but you clearly need to try and take it easy.....or maybe take a break for a few days.

you're going to hurt yourself getting all riled up like this.

    your friend,

    ray.

excuse me?? not all of my posts even pertain to rc nor am I denigrating him in any of them, don't include me in your ignorant generalizations without having your facts straight bucko!...

anyway i'm only 4th in line i'll have to step up my game..
Can you read or are you still in kindergarden?

    IDIOT
I can but apparently you can't... your being a native English speaker is in serious question.. learning disabilites as a child I'd guess..anyway stay on topic..
The "new" topic you've chosen is to throw insults - because you fail to understand a post which shows you were wrong.

Ok, let's have another look at my initial posts which has caused you to slip into insult mode:

Let's see: Top posters "challenging" raycarey in this thread - anything there which offended you? "Challenging" is a direct quotation from your comment. This is followed by a list of posters who have "challenged" (ie. disagreed with ray in some way, I left the meaning to be whatever you meant to imply by quoting your term) rc, including the number of posts in this thread.

Your response: not all of my posts even pertain to rc - nor did I suggest the do.

nor am I denigrating him in any of them - I did not suggest this either.

don't include me in your ignorant generalizations - a puzzling response, which "generalizations" have I made?

without having your facts straight bucko! - the only "fact" I have posted is a list of posters who have "challenged" rc in this thread (limited to the ones with the most posts). Anyone you would add or take off this list, bucko?

Or maybe you were wrong when you asserted that most (the preponderance of) of posters challenging rc are still on the fence in some way? It should be clear that most of them are not on the fence regarding Palin.

What a lot of hoohaa, just because you cannot admit you were wrong? On a minor sideline, as for the topic, btw.

Seems she paid for the tanning bed out of her own money (or maybe she wrote it off as a business expense?), so I don't see the tanning bed as being an issue. If someone wants to increase thier risk of skin cancer who am I to stop them? If some bird wants her skin to look like leather when she hits sixty who am I to stop her? Besides I have a bit of a fetish for tan lines.

Looks like Palin will take some direct questions in an upcoming townhall meeting with McCain. Good news, but I wonder if Palin will get more questions than McCain?:

Palin To Take Questions From Voters For First Time - From The Road

For the first time since being named John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin will take questions from voters on Wednesday. Palin will join McCain at a town hall meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a blue state to which the Republicans are devoting a slew of time and energy in the hopes of turning red.
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion" - Steven Weinberg

Actually I think it is the other way around. With Palin at events the showing is much more than if it is only McCain. The two of them apart and some times Palin draws a bigger crowd than McCain. Put both of them together and you get the biggest crowd, and McCain gets to get his message out.

The Palin hype has peaked already.

Who wants this corrupt bible-hugger who failed to educate her children in line with her beliefs?

I think they're going to let the leftist media feeding frenzy work up a real fever before he releases his attack dog.
Remember that the brains behind the scenes take their cues from thinkers like Carl Rove.

Here is an artical from an obvious Palin supporter in a UK paper:

Sarah Palin: You Brits will never get her - Telegraph

Not about Palin and not 100% correct, but a good bit all the same:
Now, there is only time for, "Tell us about the elections? Is it really possible that Obama won't win?" That's the easiest question. Yes, it is possible that Barack Obama's rhetoric will not succeed in fooling enough of the people enough of the time to gain him the keys to the White House. He claims to be a bipartisan healer, but has never voted against his Democratic leadership in the Senate. He claims to love America, but spent 20 years as a disciple of a pastor who urged his congregation to "God damn America", rather than call on God to bless it. He is a man whose list of ways young people might serve their country definitely does not include enlistment in the military.
No matter the POMS don't get to vote in the US elections anyway.
No matter. In Britain, as in the rest of Europe, Barack Obama is seen as the second coming, at least of John F Kennedy, if not of that other fellow. Tall, articulate, handsome, with a stylish wife and engaging children (paraded on stage at the Democratic convention before 80,000 fans and tens of millions of television viewers, but, says the candidate, "off limits" to reporters). Better still, he is black but, as Charles Moore reminded us last week, borrowing from Colin Powell, "not that black". There is, we have found, no use laying out such facts before Brits who want to see Obama in the White House.
This is the bit that I think really gets to the core of why so many Europeans just can not grasp US politics. Like it or not religion is still a MAJOR factor in US elections. Right now someone that is an athiest or even an agnostic would not stand a chance in a national election. Not saying it's right, or even good, but it is the way it is, and anyone running for office has to deal with that aspect of the American electorate.
It is, however, productive to discuss Sarah Palin, John McCain's choice for vice-president. The first question goes something like this: "My God, does she really believe in God, just like those jihadists we are supposed to be fighting?" Well, yes and no: yes, she is deeply religious, but no, she is not about to engage in a holy war against Islam, or even against Europe's secularists.
The issue of the individual right to keep and bear arms is also an issue that most Europeans simply can not understand, but one that I think has much less of an impact in regard to national elections. That being said this is one of the very few individual issues that I hold as being very important, and it takes quite a lot for me to decide to vote for someone who does not support the individual right to keep and bear arms.
Next question: "She shoots moose and wolves, poses with the sort of weapons favoured by Vladimir Putin and drug lords, and seems to have no objections to the proliferation of arsenals in the homes of Americans. Doesn't that worry you?"

Not very much. The second amendment to our constitution guarantees Americans the right to bear arms, a right affirmed only recently by the Supreme Court in a decision Obama says he supports. Also, we have long known, as Britain is now learning, that laws do not keep guns out of the hands of the bad guys; they only disarm law-abiding citizens and reduce their ability to defend themselves.

sorry to blow your fantasy, but.......don't get tan lines with beds, that's why so many women love them, they can use them in the nude..come to think of it there's another fantasy....but still it's all in moderation too, a little ultraviolet is not harmful it is actually quite beneficial as it produces Vitamin D..

The health benefits of UVB through production of vitamin D are considerable, with more benefits being recognized at a rapid pace. My work indicates that over 20,000 Americans die prematurely annually from insufficient UVB/vitamin D [Grant, 2002]. I also estimate that half of those with multiple sclerosis in the U.S. would not have MS if they had as much UVB exposure as those living in the southern states.

I have dated a few birds that liked to do the tanning bed thing. Pretty easy to get them to cover up a few bits and pieces just so they could make me happy with the tan lines. Actually the tanning bed makes it easier to get them just the way/where you (I) want them. Palin sure seems like the type that likes to keep her man happy so I'm sure if Todd (he has his own wiki page now - but I did not see any mention of tan line fetishes) asked she would provide the tan lines.
