we must step outside our time, religious bias and acculturation to appreciate how historically unique this situation is. someday, it will all make a very interesting movie. bin laden will be long dead and very possibly the usa will no longer maintain its lofty world perch.

bin laden is no saddam hussein.

Bin Laden is worth far more to the US alive than dead. End of story. There are very few places he can hide. If Pakistan wants to take 30 years to find him, that's ok. Like other serial sickos, he craves attention. No different than PDRK's mental midgt Kim. OBL rattles off a cassette tape about every six months when he feels he's not getting enough attention. It's a one-day, page-four news story.

These AQ fcukers don't have a country, they don't have a language, they don't have a uniform. But they do have a leader. Take him out of the equation and the image of what you're fighting gets even smokier.

I wish him good health until the last AQ terrorist takes a smoking 5.56 round through his temple. Then it's time to pay the piper.

I don't think you understand. They do have all these and taking him out is not going to be the end. Dead he will be a greater figurehead. They love their martyrs.

interesting comment. and if true, it makes them nearly impossible to fight. who, what, where are "they"? yet there actions remain scalded into the collective conciousness of the west or certainly the usa. wow. what is the historical parallel? we are befuddled as a country. we attack the wrong fucking country. we cannot define, communicate with or contain our "enemy". and we call him crazy. maybe. but we are no doubt lead by a fool who let personal ambition, family score settleing and economics -- define the process. we should be ashamed.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but the AQ training camps and taleban governments that supported them in Afghanistan were a pretty good decision.

If you're talking about Iraq, the two were not linked.

Sorry, is there a new country on the world map, AQistan?
Do they speak AQish and display the AQistan Holy Sabre on their jacket sleeves?

All Muslim countries are viewed by the Orthodox as one country. The country of Islam.

Common language/country/uniforms -- though that much was understood.

Point taken about martyrdom -- it works both ways. In either case, worth alive more than dead.

So, this means AQ have this one country as theirs?

He's doing pretty good at this game of hide and seek considering he has to lug around a dialysis machine and a doctor and technicians and a sterile environment.

They will trot him out for a show trial when the political timing in USA is right I am sure. Even if its only DNA evidence.
CIA, the people you can count on when it comes to truth, justice and the American way. Sorry, -- that quote was attributable to the old Superman TV series. Pure fiction.

The name Al Qaeda has basically become a trademark of evil, for most of the world.

The way they stuffed it up in Iraq, and recent evidence of leadership schisms and a dwindling support base suggests that this is no united front organisation but a loose, ragtag affiliation of Islamic loonies, pissed off Moslems and an element of hardcore, ultra violent resistance fighters. US led afforts to take them out wherever thay can be found have definitely had an effect, but I also suspect they are proving to be their own worst enemy in many respects.
