So you are insinuating that the US would preemptively strike China. That is absurd. Shame you didn't bother watching the video, the Admiral pretty clearly outlines the issue at hand, and it is one of China interfering with freedom of movement in international territory.
That was indeed an excellent watch. I watched another 60mins on missile men and the minute man structures. It seems to me that they just keep them going as a bit of misdirection. They probably don't even have any warheads in them anymore. Just one more site for a potential attacker to take out and waste a nuke on, even though nothing may be there anymore. I reckon the US, UK and French subs hold another nukes to do the job and anything else is probably being used as a dummy.
One should listen twice as much as one speaks
and I agree on this as well. I totally understand where the CCP are coming from, I loathe the regime but I do agree, they are being boxed in. This is why SEA and the Kra Canal are so important to them and definitely their end game in Thailand. Laos, Cambodia and Thailand are of vital importance to them. Not for war, that will be over in a matter of days, but rather for the ability to keep on importing raw materials if the west get super stingy. This is all a long term play by the US. Taking out Russia and Iran are their priority right now, they are China's flanks and without them, well that is game, set and match my Winnie the Pooh looking friend.
The US will not preemptively strike China, the assertion is laughable.
*Sigh*
In regard to this one narrowly focused conversation, I am starting to wonder about that.
Thanks for that groundbreaking revelation.
Tough titties. China is in violation of international law and someone needs to hold them accountable. The US will not just cede the SCS to Xi and the CCP bastards. The fact is that the US is the only country that can push back on China regarding this issue, and it will continue to do so. The CCP can stomp its wittle feet all it wants, it will not change that reality.
As are the priorities of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, et al.
All who to varying degree feel China is a threat to their national interests so when threatened by the power China has, will and have allied with the US.
The US should and must act as the policeman for those Asian nations that request US help. If not the US, there will be no help.

They felt that way about the ruzzians too before the war in Ukraine. I can assure you they do not have that same opinion now. The Chinese military has the same top-heavy organizational structure, uses the same soviet doctrine, and has the same issues with corruption as the ruzzians.
If the Admirals in the US went around saying China was a paper tiger, they would not get their big ships built.
You know what is concerning is just what sort of game is China playing on Russia. I cannot see any trap already set but I am sure there is one already in the process. A small section of the area around Vladivostok used to be part of Manchuria and to a greater extent, there are communities of Manchu ethnicity further up towards northern Siberia. This area is also filled to the brim with natural resources, enough to keep the factory, that is China, going without the need for the southern Burma and the Kra canal routes. It is a shot in the dark for China to be even thinking this is possible but hey, if you don't play, you will never win. This is all about resources, Taiwan is not a target for pride but rather a target of resources and in this case taking a resource away from the US.
The more I look at this, the more I find a deeply complex situation involving some large players but also many smaller nations who play an integral role in each sides position.
A better time was in the 1990's when Russia was on its knees. Except China settled all of its border disputes with Russia in the 90's instead. And has no claims at all.
This is beyond ridiculous. Hey look China, some barren steppe in eastern Russia. While the US is slowly turning Taiwan into an unsinkable aircraft carrier on their front doorstep. To join with the 40,000 troops and 112 bases that the US already has in South Korea and Japan.
Basically everyone here is nonchalant about another war starting in Asia. (Most probably think it is all saber rattling and a larp) Nobody thinks there should be some negotiation instead ? None ? Yay or nay for negotiation.

Remember this from 1994?
1. The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and The United States of America reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE Final Act, to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.
^came back to make this very point. If backspins theory was correct, then, we would never have had any wars.
Also, I wonder if you have heard of all the Chinese uni scholarships given to students in Siberia. Why do you think they are doing that? I know of a russian girl from Siberia who got a Chinese uni scholarship and now works in Taiwan. The balls already rolling on this one im afraid.
