Very kind offer. But I've noticed that the links to the two articles I have tried so far already work - is only some of the site behind a sub wall?

How very strange. When I first got my subscription I couldn't get access to the articles because of the need to log in (before I had my ID) now it appears every tom dick and harry can.

    I feel cheated.

I do get the audio version for free to download though

*The audio edition contains word-for-word recordings of all articles, including the occasional swear word

Just had a closer look, it is actually restricted access. They have certain articles/sections designated 'subscription only'.

Thanks a lot, mrsquirrel, the Economist is a very worthwhile source, I am sure some will take advantage of this offer.

"The saffron revolution" is an interesting piece about Myanmar, but I can access it myself.

The Economist has lost its edge over the years and I found their stories mostly boring these days, even though once in a while they have a brillant story
