Apparantly Doris and Corbyn are close to some deal which will keep us in a customs union but won't be called a customs union. And if they do reach a deal will probably have the numbers to pass and we are fucked with a Brexit in name only that no one wants.

well at least you get to stop making stupid decisions in the EU, so that's a big progress

yeah the CU, Merkel could go with it, and steal a few MEP seats left vacant for her country and own party, win-win

Of course the EU would go for a customs union as then they would be in control of UK trade policy. There is no point having Brexit if remain in a customs unions or however they end up dressing it up as something else to try and fool people.

Your choice of the words 'better run' is entirely subjective, so of course no figures could be produced to authoritatively prove or disprove it.

They've certainly reduced costs in the NHS, for example, but the service is on its knees and dependent on foreign workers. Education is also close to being a basket case.

The UK National Debt has nearly doubled since the Tories came to power, even though they have been enforcing crippling austerity on public services, makes you wonder(sarcasm) what happened to the money.

No point providing hard numbers to Buffy, he tends to fly into rage when confronted with facts.

The National Debt increased rapidly and went over £1 trillion in 2011 and over £1.5 trillion in 2016. At the end of March 2019 the National Debt was £1.80 trillion.

I believe the national debt was coming under control until the lunacy that was the BREXIT vote though, wasn't it?

The above 2 posters clearly dont understand the difference between the national debt and deficit even though it has been explained numerous times. The national debt in itself isn't a problem as long as you can service it. The important figure is the deficit as in how much more money the government borrows than in takes in. And the Tories by and large have got this figure under control although obviously the aim is to be running a surplus and they are still a way from that.

If you read that exchange again you will see that from my input there is actually no support for your contention whatsoever.

You just think you've read what you wish you'd read.

There have been several examples of this today.

Foobar...my apologies. You are quite correct.

I did read your post hence my comment which is entirely correct showing you are clueless when comes to the debt and deficit. The debt has been rising under the Tory government which you stated was coming under control. It is the deficit which is the important figure that the Tories have largely got under control.

    You have read 'y' and you're pretending it's 'x'.

Foobar mentioned the national debt and I was incorrect in my belief that it was coming down.

There is no sign whatsoever of any confusion on my part between the debt and the deficit. You are just smarting from the hiding you've had today and desperate for a win somewhere.

    It isn't here.

Hiding I've had? That's never happened on here, but you are correct in that I will never miss an opportunity to point out how clueless you are. Not knowing the difference between the debt and deficit being a prime example. Again basic stuff.

Brexiteers, take note, this is how you do it right

Paris May Day protests: Police and demonstrators clash
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-48119183

French police have fired tear gas on masked protesters who joined large May Day demonstrations in Paris.

Traditionally a union-led day of action in the country, this year's event saw both the yellow vest movement and so-called "black blocks" of dark-clad and masked protesters.

Some smashed shop windows and threw projectiles at the police. Dozens of people have been arrested.

The clashes forced the head of the CGT union to temporarily flee the march.

Philippe Martinez told news outlet Franceinfo that "police charged the CGT", though other witnesses had said the "black blocks" had attacked the union march.

AFP news agency says Mr Martinez planned to return.

And this is why Paris will never take substantial business away from London making a mockery of Macron dream for Paris to take Londons place as the financial capital of Europe.

No one will take over from London as people actually want to live and work there plus nowhere else has the infrastructure needed to be the financial capital. Yes London will lose some business but nothing significant and that will be offset by being able to attract new business if ever break free from the EU.

The only infrastructure of importance in London is the Tube which equals the Metro in Paris.

Lucky bustards, not being run over by military vehicles, can't imagine why not, the EU has got loads of spares in mothball.

Says the clueless thick twat who doesn't understand the difference between the debt and deficit. Again if you want to make a total tit of yourself showing your ignorance due to being hidden away in a classroom all your life go ahead. Do you have any idea of the size of the financial centre in London and what is needed to sustain it, of course you don't as otherwise you wouldn't have endorsed an ignorant post with the sole intention of trying to snipe at me who you are clearly jealous of. So i guess we are going to have another day of Simlle Sybil playing the forum fool.

May (and Cameroon) are just corrupt to nth degree - they have zero interest in working for Britain, only themselves...
