Are you living in a cave? The orange-faced wanker is already holding campaign rallies.

Now that all the GOP have seen what it takes to motivate their base, I expect a whole raft of crazies to stand.
    You missed my point.

    I know about the mid-terms.

    I should have clarified.

Mid term Congressional ans Senatorial elections.

Historically, the party of the Executive lose seats.

Of course, it depends on how many and the public voter mood at that time.

...less of the above and more on gerrymandering...that's why so many Republican loons keep their seats...

Yeah, but its a thing. Repulicans were smart, you gotta give them credit. They drew the lines while Democrats bitched about fairness. Its also how all these dickheads turn what should be service into career seats with no chance of being held accountable.

it's always a know-nothing trumptard who spouts off without having any actual information on the topic.

these are maps of actual congressional districts:

while some may take immense pleasure from wallowing in their ignorance, gerrymandering is a serious issue that directly leads to many of the problems we face as a country.

let me try and make it simple for the not so bright....if a non-partisan approach was taken towards setting up congressional districts, said districts would have voters from all points on the political spectrum...which in turn would make it more likely that moderates would be elected....resulting in the government being able to actually do the work it is supposed to do.

3 years and 7 months away.

And it's obvious I was referring g to the next Presidential election.

The Supreme court has smacked down several conservative states in the last few years and ordered that they redraw districts. In both the 2012 and 2016 elections the Dems have won more votes but somehow controlled less seats in congress. Gee how could that be happening?

It is a huge issue and it has its own thread started by myself..

Not sure about that, that is more a function of the primary process. If more competition resulted in primary voters wanting moderate candidates, then yeah it could be.

What it would definitely result in is more turnover, a lot more accountability to the voters, and generally far fewer career politicians.

How could that happen if districts are drawn specifically to capture GOP conservative voters and exclude liberal leaning voters?

There's another possible scenario where voter's wake up and realize it was their votes or lack of votes that put the clown and his circus in office and use some discretion in upcoming elections.

Read the two quotes again. RC was arguing that IF gerrymandering didn't exist that more moderate candidates would be elected.

I said not neccessarily since the primary process would still reflect the views of each repective base, not the entire electorate.

The reality where they wake up and realize that they actually, in fact, liked and trusted Hillary Clinton?

Let's hope Democrats exercise some discretion next primary process and we won't have to deal with this shit again.

True that. Hopefully the Dems will realize they had faulty product and re-group. Problem with that is a lot big egos will have to admit they made a mistake.

Reflection on the reasons why Dems lost to such a pathetic and totally inept candidate (the second worst candidate in history) is really critical to ensuring such a disaster doesn't happen again.

I don't really see that happening though. Power and monied interest certainly have no use for such an exercise, and the voters are too busy being distracted by Trump's daily flailings.
