Pseudopuss, you asked to name anything that brought benefit to people.

    I have given you:

    Capacative Touchscreens
    CT/PET Scanners
    Grid Computing

Yet your stupid cognitive bias means that you plough on like a moron with witless posts in denial of the fact that you've had your question answered.

That is just yet more proof that you're an idiot.

if its any consolation, QM was a large part of my doctorate and it made my head hurt too

Rats on coke listening to Miles Davis - what happens?
Chickens reactions to ugly people - same as human reactions?
Wonder if monkeys can me forced to masturbate initiated by smells alone?
Drunk leeches. Wonder what that would look like?
Penguin crap. What's the velocity of that then?

Yes all very interesting. Stoners would love all of this I am sure. CERN? Jeremy Clarkson in control? Hit it with a hammer and see what happens. My tinfoil unscientific stupid moronic understanding of it is infinitesimally small particles travelling at mind-boggling speeds, crashing together with so much force that they might perhaps replicate the Big Bang, a theory (not a conspiracy theory, which usually are more plausible and backed with facts) but a scientific theory which likely comes from all the great scientific minds deciding "well, we are so great, we can not possibly allow people to think we don't know how the universe was created, so lets make something up...." which is after all a theory is. It's a guess.

Now I accept that I am merely a pleb who knows nothing about science; an idiot, a buffoon, someone so incredulously stupid that I should rightly be compared with psychopathic religious nuts from the Saud dictatorship (who are propped up by the same governments that are propping up CERN), however, I also guess that what they are also trying to do is find an excuse as to why their set in stone LAWS of physics that these gods of wisdom wrote and determined were the LAWS..... don't apply on a subatomic level. After all, don't these tiny particles know that their behavior has been decided and dictated by some scientists? They ought to bloody well behave as otherwise they will make the scientists look stupid, and that is not allowed - it is the law.

So you come at it from that angle. Anything for scientific advancement. I would prefer the money spent on something else. That is all. Something useful. Something that would help the common man rather than try to satisfy some itch that the scientific community has. Something like working out why the placebo effect actually works. How can the mind and the body go from thinking it has had a drug and thus sorting itself out? Surely this should be the holy grail of medical research, harnessing the power of the mind and the body to fix itself? Not worth it? I would rather see 5 billion chucked at that. Or how about why magnets always have a north and south pole. Sure they can now just about create a single poled magnet, but they do not actually know why in nature this never happens by itself. Surely in there somewhere is something worth exploring. Chuck 5 billion at it - perpetual motion machines might come from it, but i guess that breaks other laws from scientists, so that will never do.

Or perhaps on a more simple thing like constructing a massive desalination plant to ensure there is fresh water topping up the aquafirs all the time so that we never have an future where crims will control it like T. Boone Pickens who says time and time again when asked about the future of water "If you have no money, you will not be able to drink water".

Yup - scientists have limited empathy most of the time, and when they get an idea in their heads, they lose contact with their humanity as well. Besides, if you are honest with yourself, you know damn well that what ever they discover will not benefit mankind. How long until DARPA start tinkering with a Black Hole generator missile?

CERN is one element of scientific research in Europe.

And the UK alone has seven research councils, covering medical, environmental, engineering and biotech sciences to name but four.

Why don't you look it up, you idiot.

You know, before you open your big mouth and stick your big fat foot in it again.

I think you mean incredibly. Your credulity is sky-high. Other than that, though, there's not much to argue with it that admirably honest self-appraisal.

rather like the religious loon from saudi you know nothing of science.... or at the very least how it works.
In science you come up with an idea then you go about proving it wrong... as your ideas fail, you are able to use this new evidence to refine your idea. Its all evidence based.

you and your saudi make both have your revealed truth, his is the koran yours are your conspiracy theories

for both of you, evidence si only evidence if it agrees with your revealed truth, the rest is satan's work for him and the government for you. reality means nothing to either of you unless it does what you both want.

those who do not believe in the revealed truth are unbelievers for him or sheepeople to you

really the only difference between you and the saudi cleric who thinks the sun goes round the earth is... which selection of fantasy you have chosen to belive
