Do you know how much a jet airliner weighs? Hint: it's mostly air. A fully loaded 757-23 weighs 225,000 pounds.

    What else weighs 225,000 pounds?

How big of a hole do you think it would make in the outer wall of the Pentagon?

Pentagon plane crash is a scam, Flight 77 never hit it.

Bzzt. Try more like 30+ billion per year and increasing.

What is the ratio between economically viable oil and that which is not (at current market prices)?
I don't know but as the price of oil goes up the number of barrels of proven reserves increases, at the same time oil in distant places becomes more reasonable to pursue.

What kind of metal is an airplane made from?

Planes are mainly made from aluminium.
Thr jet engines on flt 77 weighed eleven tonnes each.
Where did they hit, and what happened to them?

Ever seen what happens to a car (made of steel) weighing 4-5 tons that hits a tree, wall, or Jersey barrier at 50-70MPH? Really nothing left of it. Vehicles are literally destroyed by hitting solid objects...and we're talking about heavier and denser metal.

So why should an object made from aluminum survive hitting something even more solid at 300+MPH?

An engine is too bulky and heavy to be totally vapourised outside of Lab conditions, and even then there would be impact marks where it hit.

The engines in Flight 77 weighed barely 7200 pounds...or less than 4 tons. Much of the engine was comprised of carbon fiber (such as the cowl doors and other parts). The engines in Flight 77 were the RR RB211-535E4B series.

This means, of course, that essentially you had a massive metal honeycomb the size of two Chevy Surburbans that smashed into a solid object at 300MPH+. Is it any wonder nothing survived?

I'm not yet convinced on any conspiracy theory, but I have this unresolved question on the Pentagon hit, plus the seized security tapes from the neighbouring gas station which- according to 'Loose Change' should have captured the whole thing.
I am however convinced that some people knew what was going to happen, and made money from it on the options market. So why did the US government quash any investigation, and hold the information?
I also would like to know more details about the gold bullion heist from WTC 7.

If you want to get to the bottom of something, follow the money.

Believing that a plane hit a Pentagon is like believing that Kennedy was hit by a magic bullet. The government loves to run conspiracy theories as "official" ones. They get to fool everybody, and there is no shortage of suckers in the world.

and yes the X-Files is real

I just love the 2 brain celled Micheal Moorisms!

Or maybe you just need to take your head out of the sand!
MD wrote " This is a quote from Yosri Frouda's (cheif executive reporter at Al Jazeera) interview with Ramzi Bin al Binalshibh:

"The brothers shouted, Allah-u-Akbar, thanks to God, and cried. Everyone thought that this was the only operation. We said to them, 'Wait, wait.'
"Suddenly our brother Marwan was violently ramming the plane into the [World Trade Center] in an unbelievable manner! We were watching live and praying: God ... aim ... aim ... aim."

so now Al Jazeera and Binalshibh are part of the conspiracy? Or did some secret organisation somehow manage to secrectly co-ordinate their attacks to coinside with the Arab's strikes?

Earl, try reading my posts before commenting. I think the conspiracy theory is twaddle. KId just has real difficulties expressing himself him the English language. And by the way I think Moore is a fat sepo weazle.

I don't usually pay much attention to conspiracy theories, but if you compare the angle of the light and the shadows, it should be obvious that this pic was photoshopped!

    Good point, Stroll.

I'm open to any questions about the official explanation.

But CMN should have provided a link w/ this pic, since there are so many available.

Isn't it obvious? - can't you see the 3 laser trails?

Who put the tree there? Why there? - I think we ought to know what's going on!

There is no case of a jet engine vapourising,
Aluminium will burn at the right temperature.
Titanium alloys, such as they use for turbines and blades. require an enormous amount more temperature. Outside of a resarch furnace, it can not be found. Even a blast furnace will not melt or burn this stuff, although an eloctrostatic furnace can.

I never worked in a jet engine lab, but I studied some mettalurgy.

Interesting. So what do you think would happen to the titanium alloy bits in a jet engine spinning at about 10,000 RPM after it hits a reinforced concrete wall while travelling at 300 MPH?

Naturally every piece would survive intact and in pristine condition. Didn't you know that planes are foremost engineered to survive crashes?

Oh, OK. Thanks for clearing that up. I had the crazy idea that it might explode into a zillion pieces taking the rest of the engine body with it. Makes much more sense that it just drops to the ground so it can be used again. Excellent engineering.
