No actually it does not, what it does is shed light on the honesty and integrity of these people. You are right about private lives being private, but these are not private lives these are public people who choose to put their lives in the public eye, as representatives and public servants to the people of the U.S. they are under much higher scrutiny and they know this going into the profession.
If they are willing to go to the extent Hillary went to,too cover Bills track record with women what would she do to cover miss deeds, intentional or not, that may occur during her presidency. So yes the moral ond ethical questions of her are extremely important.
However if the morallity and ethics of the person voting are low this may not apply so much.
