This might be the worst collection of republican losers to run in a long time. Look at the nuts.

Get ready for the largest GOP presidential field in recent history.

As many as 20 Republicans are taking a serious look at running for the White House in 2016. A handful of candidates have moved aggressively into the field, and others are expected to ramp up in the coming weeks, with several announcements expected in April.

Recent races haven’t attracted such a large and unsettled field before, and time is sure to winnow the contenders before the first debate in August 2015.

In 2011, as many as nine Republicans participated in one early debate. The field of declared candidates in that cycle was never greater than 10 at any one time.

Here are the 20 Republicans likely to make a run for the GOP nomination.

Jeb Bush: The former Florida governor is all but running, with recent trips to Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in the books. The establishment frontrunner has been building a political team and vacuuming up support from major donors.

Scott Walker: The Wisconsin governor has been aggressive on the attack in the early stages, and his burgeoning campaign appears well-positioned to compete for the long-haul.

Rand Paul: The Kentucky senator is likely to announce his presidential campaign on April 7. The libertarian favorite has been crafting a campaign focused heavily on technology, while test-driving a message aimed at young voters and minorities.

Marco Rubio: With buzz growing in conservative circles, the Florida senator has put together a top-flight political team made up of 2012 Mitt Romney alums, and may have landed a billionaire backer.

Chris Christie: It’s been a rough first few months for the New Jersey governor but he’s returned to his wheelhouse — the town-hall meetings where shines. It could help him regain stride, and Republicans say his political skills should not be underestimated.

Ben Carson: The retired neurosurgeon and grassroots conservative favorite is within striking distance of the frontrunners in most polls, but verbal gaffes still trip him up.

Mike Huckabee: The former Arkansas governor left a comfortable gig at Fox News to explore another presidential run and is expected to pull heavily from the same base of evangelical voters as he did in 2008.

Ted Cruz: The Texas senator has been supplementing his trips to the early states with mainstream media engagements, where he continues to relish the role of conservative agitator.

Rick Perry: With nothing to lose after his 2012 flop, the former Texas governor now seems like a happy warrior on the trail. He’ll likely be more formidable this time with a solid donor base and a sharper message focused on foreign policy.

Lindsey Graham: The South Carolina senator has impressed crowds in early-voting states with his candor, ease and confidence. The early focus on foreign policy is in his wheelhouse, but he still isn’t near the top tier.

John Kasich: The Ohio governor is popular in conservative circles and brings added heft from a critical battleground state. This week, conservative writer George Will wrote a column encouraging Kasich to jump in, saying he would add “spirit” and “spice.”

Bobby Jindal: The Louisiana governor is doing everything he can to keep his name in the race, burnishing a reputation as a social conservative firebrand and policy wonk in speeches across the country.

    Rick Santorum:
The former Pennsylvania senator and 2012 runner-up’s moment appears to have come and gone. At the Iowa Ag Summit earlier this month, he seemed surprised by the small group of reporters he attracted.

Carly Fiorina: The former Hewlett Packard CEO has moved early and aggressively into the presidential field. As the only woman candidate, she adds diversity to the field, and the wealthy businesswoman could self-fund a campaign for as long as she wants.

John Bolton: The former UN ambassador’s bid would largely be predicated on his hawkish foreign policy bona fides. He’s the only potential candidate that supports gay marriage, which could endear him to a select group of wealthy GOP donors.

Peter King: The New York congressman has said he wants to make sure that his nemeses in the Senate — Paul and Cruz — don’t control the discourse.

George Pataki: The former New York governor has been travelling to early voting states. Like Christie, Pataki has trumpeted his record as a Republican governor in a blue state.

Jim Gilmore: The former Virginia governor says he’s seriously considering another presidential run, but it’s hard to see his place in the field. Gilmore briefly ran for president in 2008, but dropped out early. Later that year he was crushed by Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) in the race for Senate.

Bob Ehrlich: The former Maryland governor has been to New Hampshire a handful of times this year and has quietly met with donors and party leaders to gauge support for a potential bid.

Mark Everson: The former IRS commissioner became the first Republican presidential candidate to officially enter the field earlier this month, releasing a four-and-a-half minute long video and 16-page document vowing to turn the country around. But virtually no one knows who he is. Mark Everson for President

This might be too easy for Hillary

Y'all heard by now that Hillary wants to establish Adult Fun Camps.

Here's one activity that adults of the 'liberal persuasion' can take part in!

I think Reagan might do quite well- but he'd have to run as a Dem, far too pinko for the latter day GOP.

If We Don't Overturn Citizens United Congress will serve the Billonare Class

I recently introduced an amendment at the Senate Budget Committee. It was pretty simple. It asked my Senate colleagues to begin the process of overturning the disastrous Supreme Court ruling on Citizens United, and to bring transparency and disclosure to the political process. The link to that debate on the amendment is here.

Here's what I asked my Senate colleagues to consider:
Are we comfortable with an American political system which is being dominated by a handful of billionaires?
Are we a nation that prides ourselves on one-person, one-vote, or do we tell ordinary Americans you've got one vote but the Koch brothers can spend hundreds of millions of dollars?
Do we want a political system in which a handful of billionaires can buy members of the United States Congress?
Who are those members of Congress elected with the help of billionaires going to be representing? Do you think they're going to be representing the middle class and working families?
The answers seem clear to me. Unless the campaign financing system is reformed, the U.S. Congress will become paid employees of the people who pay for their campaigns -- the billionaire class. Needless to say, not everyone on the Committee agreed.
It was an interesting and informative debate. Not one Republican supported the amendment and it lost by a 12-10 vote. I intend to offer it again this week on the floor of the Senate.

Good evening teabaggers. I hope this New York news finds you well.

The matchup of neighbors Clinton and Christie is the closest general election race, and the Democrat wins 54 - 34 percent, compared to 57 - 31 percent in a December 23 Quinnipiac University poll. Clinton tops other Republicans by larger margins:

    59 - 31 percent over Paul, compared to 61 - 26 percent in December
58 - 29 percent over former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee
    58 - 30 percent over Bush, compared to 60 - 29 percent in December
    58 - 31 percent over Rubio
60 - 27 percent over U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas
    58 - 31 percent over Walker
    55 - 34 percent over Pataki

33 point difference between Clinton and Cruz (the largest margin)

Former Clinton Confidant: Hillary Doesn’t Know How To Type.

Well, she doesn't know how to tell the truth either so what's the big deal?

Hillary Clinton’s emails won’t likely turn up many insights about the 2012 Benghazi terror attacks, according to a onetime Clinton confidant, because she can’t type.

Dick Morris, who helped President Bill Clinton navigate domestic policy and led his 1996 re-election effort before imploding in his own ‘bimbo eruption’ scandal, wrote Monday on his blog that Mrs. Clinton ‘doesn’t know how to type.’

‘That’s right. She writes everything out in longhand. Really. Anyone who has spent time in meetings with her knows about her endless yellow pads.’

Morris’ insights, although dated, came as the former secretary of state visited the White House for a rare sit-down with President Barack Obama."

Seems Florida will go to Hillary also.

Florida Tepid Toward Bush, Rubio runs

Floridians aren't very excited about the prospect of either Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio running for President, and Hillary Clinton leads the entire field of potential GOP candidates in the state.

Only 37% of Florida voters think Jeb Bush should run for President, to 52% who say they think he shouldn't. The numbers for Marco Rubio on that front are almost identical- 35% say he should run to 51% who believe he should sit it out. The lack of enthusiasm for either Bush or Rubio making a White House bid is at least partially a function of their not being terribly popular. 45% of voters approve of the job Rubio is doing as a Senator to 40% who disapprove. Bush's favorability numbers are similar with 45% giving him good marks to 42% with a negative opinion. Their numbers aren't bad but they aren't that impressive either.

Hillary Clinton has leads of 2-8 points over all of the potential GOP contenders in the state. Rubio comes the closest at just a 48/46 deficit and Bush is down by a similar margin at 47/44. Rand Paul trails by 4 at 46/42, Mike Huckabee's down 5 at 49/44, Chris Christie and Ted Cruz each trail by 7 at 48/41 and 49/42 respectively, and Ben Carson (49/41), Rick Perry (50/42), and Scott Walker (49/41) all lag Clinton by 8 points.

Bush leads the Republican field in the state with 25% to 17% for Walker, 15% for Rubio, 12% for Carson, 7% for Huckabee, 6% for Cruz, 4% each for Christie and Paul, and 3% for Perry. Since PPP last did a Presidential poll in Florida last June, Bush has dropped by 5 points while Walker has seen his support increase by 10. Also seeing their stock decline in Florida are Paul whose support is down from 11% in June, Cruz who was previously at 9%, and Christie who was previously at 8%. Florida makes yet another state where Christie is under water with GOP primary voters- 35% rate him favorably to 40% with a negative view.

Even in his home state Bush lags a little bit with voters identifying themselves as 'very conservative,' trailing with 19% to Walker's 23%. But he has a commanding lead with moderates, getting 33% to only 10% for Walker, that's enough to help give him his overall advantage.

On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton remains dominant with 58% to 14% for Joe Biden, 10% for Elizabeth Warren, 3% for Bernie Sanders, 2% for Martin O'Malley, and 1% for Jim Webb. Clinton is polling over 50% with liberals, moderates, men, women, whites, African Americans, and voters within every age group.

Clinton hit with racketeering lawsuit over emails

The conservative group Freedom Watch has filed a racketeering lawsuit against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that accuses her of failing to produce documents under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The civil suit, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, argues that Clinton used her private emails to sell access to other officials in return for donations to the Clinton Foundation.

It alleges that, during her tenure, Clinton withheld documents requested under FOIA regarding State Department waivers given to businesses or individuals doing business with Iran, possibly undermining U.S.-imposed sanctions.
The complaint, which lists Bill and Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation as defendants, alleges the Clintons sold access to other U.S. government officials in return for donations to their organization, which they concealed, allegedly, by using a private computer server for her emails operated from their home in Chappaqua, New York."

Heh...Scandals force Hillary Clinton to delay 2016 bid announcement.

Shredders can only work but so fast.

Many of the key figures cited in a scathing inspector general’s report this week are allies of Hillary Rodham Clinton, marking the latest in a series of stumbles for the former first lady and secretary of state that likely forced her to delay her planned presidential campaign announcement.

A Democratic strategist familiar with her team’s thinking said they are scrambling to limit the damage and readjust the campaign rollout schedule after the Homeland Security Department’s inspector general revealed an apparent cronyism scandal that ensnared Mrs. Clinton’s brother, Anthony Rodham, and two of her political confidants, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and former Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell.

The accusation that a top Obama administration official did favors for the three politically connected Democrats follows other damaging revelations swirling around Mrs. Clinton, including that the Clinton Foundation pocketed foreign donations while she was secretary of state and that she exclusively used a private email account that concealed official business while she was in office."

Tom Engelhardt makes a very good point in this very disturbing article, which is part of much larger point that pertains to both parties and what has become of the US political system:
Yes There's a Bush and a Clinton, but the 2016 Elections Represent Something Scary and New | Mother Jones
The most striking aspect of this little brouhaha lies in what's most obvious but least highlighted. An American secretary of state chose to set up her own private, safeguarded email system for doing government work; that is, she chose to privatize her communications. If this were Cairo, it might not warrant a second thought. But it didn't happen in some third-world state. It was the act of a key official of the planet's reigning (or thrashing) superpower, which—even if it wasn't the first time such a thing had ever occurred—should be taken as a tiny symptom of something that couldn't be larger or, in the long stretch of history, newer: the ongoing privatization of the American state, or at least the national security part of it.

    HILLARY 'WIPED HER SERVER CLEAN'

No Copies of Clinton Emails on Server, Lawyer Says

WASHINGTON — An examination of the server that housed the personal email account that Hillary Rodham Clinton used exclusively when she was secretary of state showed that there are no copies of any emails she sent during her time in office, her lawyer told a congressional committee on Friday.

After her representatives determined which emails were government-related and which were private, a setting on the account was changed to retain only emails sent in the previous 60 days, her lawyer, David Kendall, said. He said the setting was altered after she gave the records to the government.

“Thus, there are no [email protected] emails from Secretary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state on the server for any review, even if such review were appropriate or legally authorized,” Mr. Kendall said in a letter to the House select committee investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

The committee subpoenaed the server this month, asking Mrs. Clinton to hand it over to a third party so it could determine which emails were personal and which were government records."
