A lot of people are not breathing a sigh of relief, IMO.

So unless I'm very much mistaken, Romney lost both Michigan -- his home state and where his father was a long-term Governor -- and Massachusetts where he now lives?

    Rather telling.

The whole world excluding Israel and 50% of America wanted Obama to win so a good result, obviously no one expects things to get any better under Barry's second term it's just that things would get a whole lot worse had Romney won, hence the rest of the world can breathe a huge sigh of relief and we carry on as we were.

Well they do say the truth hurts and that was probably the most truthful he has been the entire campaign.

Nice bit of bromance for Ryan too.

Trump’s Twitter rant after Obama win: ‘We should march on Washington and stop this’

Donald Trump, the impossibly coiffed real estate mogul and de facto leader of the "birther" movement, had something of a Twitter meltdown in the wake of President Barack Obama's projected victory in Tuesday's election.

"Well, back to the drawing board!" Trump tweeted shortly after several networks, including Fox News, called Ohio in the president's favor, sealing the win. "We can't let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!"

Trumpwho last month offered $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice in exchange for the release of the commander in chief's college records and passport applicationcontinued his post-election rant in 140-character chunks:

"Barack Obama is the least transparent president in the history of this country," Trump said in a widely mocked October video shot from his New York office and uploaded to YouTube. "I'm very honored to have gotten him to release his long-form birth certificate or whatever it may be."

President Obama was unfazed. On "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," Obama joked to Leno that the bad blood between him and the "Celebrity Apprentice" star "dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya."
It appears the president saved his best zinger for Trump for Election Day.

I've had a lot of Mormon friends. Good people, but when times are tough or they are with good friends, a good stiff one is not uncommon.

So have I. But recall many times being chastised by a mormon on the way home from a mission for having a beer at cocktail time on an airplane. I have even been asked why I chose a caffeine drink like coke.

I have nothing against them, its just in my case they seem like the nicest people you could ever want to meet. I always give cold water and some fruit to the guys who stop buy a few times a year on their bikes. Hell I would even not mind living in southern Utah hear the Nevada border, great schools and cheap houses. But as far as listening to them. No thanks.

"People will now talk about how the Republicans lost because the platform they championed was too far to the right to appeal to mainstream Americans, but that's not the reason Romney lost. The reason is that the Romney campaign, from a marketing standpoint, never really gave us a good reason to vote for Mitt. They gave us a lot of reasons to vote against Obama, but never effectively made the case for Romney himself."
Romney - what went wrong? - World - NZ Herald News

That's pretty much spot on in my opinion. And a good thing too - right-wingers have been beating the drum of the politics of fear for far too long.

A pyrrhic victory for all of you die hards. As Jon Stewart correctly pointed out - Romney did actually win... The Confederacy.

Erm...the US is a Republic, not a democracy.

The electoral college makes it a Republic and proteCtS smaller states.

He says the electoral college is a disaster, but Obama won by less than 1% of the national, correct?

And if the electoral college was done away with, it would likely HURT Trump's choices for Prez, because the top ten cities would hold the power. And we know how cities vote.

It's very clear on the total color map. Almost all - perhaps ALL - metro city areas were blue for B.O.

Well, Rachel Maddow opened her show with a pretty pointed first segment...

Speaking of which, did you see some of the garbage he tweeted:

Trump began tweeting before the election was called that it was "a total sham and a travesty." After news outlets projected that Obama won the election, Trump tweeted, "Well, back to the drawing board!" He posted more than 10 angry tweets, declaring "our nation is a once great nation divided" and "the world is laughing at us." He encouraged a "revolution in this country."

"The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy," fumed the celebrity mogul.

This is COOL. I always wonder why the blue states look so small and all those red states seem like more than half (when the popular vote shows us a clear almost 50/50 split in our ideas on governing anyway)...But here is a map ADJUSTED for population, Kinda cool !

Is there a thread on Fox News in denial??

Four more years--what is going on here?
    By Judge Andrew P. Napolitano

I never thought this guy was too intelligent inspite being well educated and successful in life. Maybe it is just his Fox persona.

    Fine quotes...

Only in America can a president who inherits a deep recession and whose policies have actually made the effects of that recession worse get re-elected.
obviously this is factually false. Since the former judge is intelligent, should other intelligent people assume that he knows that he is lying? I say that it is obvious, ... yes.

He (Obama) rejects the most fundamental of American values -- that our rights come from our Creator, and not from the government.
Hmmm, besides being a stupid, unfounded statement regarding Obama, what ever happened to separation of church and state? I thought that was in the Constitution... Our rights are in the constitution and not in the bible. If you are not Christian, if you do not believe in the same "Creator", then the former judge would seem to say that you are not "American".

That is more fertilizer from BS mountain... The judge needs a change of address....

Stuff is oozing out. The animal that is The Right Wing has been badly wounded, and a lot of really ugly noises are coming out of any one of the numerous orifices the beast maintains.

Stupid, extreme positions--Rove said Obama suppressed the vote...the Senator from S. Carolina came out with some racist dog-whistle today. They'd been sitting in their own bubble, listening to their own facts, and when they turned out to be wrong....Surprise. Apparently Romney himself was dumbstruck.

(Can't remember where it was reported or I'd post it)

So how did Dim Mitt and the rethugs finish? Dismal Performance

    Landslide victory for Obama

    Obama – 332 EV
    Dim Mitt – 206 EV

At this point, even Floridians are laughing at themselves. While the vote count is still under way in electorally-dysfunctional Florida, the Obama campaign is stepping in and claiming victory in a race everyone knows will end up going their way.

Even the Romney campaign can see that's it's a lost cause.

The Republicans conceded the race in Florida yesterday, bringing the final Electoral College totals to 332 for President Obama and 206 for Mitt Romney.: Final Florida Presidential Election 2012 Results : Latinos Post

Here’s our Governor; Rick (I’m a dick) Scott, to tell everyone how well things went in Florida,..

Rod Smith, chairman of the Florida Democrats, attacked Florida Gov. Rick Scott — a Republican — for refusing to extend early voting hours, saying it was “a serious mistake that should and must be corrected.”: Florida presidential race outcome

Rove has been a blight on democracy for many years. It was fun to see him squirm (in his own way) and come out with such stupid statements.
