I will try;

The beams you see flying outwards more or less horizontally or nearly so have been expressed that way by observable explosive forces, some counter to gravity, propelling steel beams for 300 metres across the city.

The (supposed) 'free falling' building in your question is not free falling either, but approaching free falling speed, as the inertia of the mass is overcome by the momentum of the mass under gravity, so hastening the collapse process, and moving directly counter to the remaining grounded inertia of the mass, the bases of the towers.

A kerosene fire cannot do that.
