Nawty, appreciate your interest in my work and thanks for the kind words on my B.Post articles. More to come on the last Monday of every month.
Absolutely; it is a tough job trying to educate the Thai people as many are not interested in the natural world but are wrapped-up in modern society and all its quirks. However, I will continue to report on as many protected areas as possible in the hope my efforts will one day come to fruit. Let us meet one day in Khao Yai but I will need a number.
And 'Mobsi' is a true friend and it is he that has enlighten me on the wizardry of the web-stuff. I'd be a lost soul without him.
ok I shall PM you my number....ask mobs how to do the PM thingy if need be.Originally Posted by Bruce Kekule
also, I am sure you have seen the controversy re the Thanarat road recently. Do you have, or can you get an email for this organisation. I have sent them a dozen emails on the one advertised here, but all returned. I have some ideas.
I also want to send the PM an email, but he keeps hanging up on me when i call asking for his mailing address.

Also...if I do not say so myself....I am a pretty good wildlife phototaker as you can see here...nearly as good as you.

another poster here, Bobsknob, he is a keen photographer, maybe you could give him some tips to take a good photo.
^ I'll let him know.
I was thinking Nawty, since we both are super duper professional wildlife photographers maybe we should petition DD to have a new category for all the great work we'll be showing off in the future.
We just don't get enough exposure being buried in "Farming and Gardening"
great idea. you do the petitioning as he does not take me seriously.
he rang me a little bit ago.
Gidday and Welcome Bruce...Over your 40 plus years working around the Thai National Parks you must have some treasured pics and stories and I am eager to see and hear about em....Cheers
I didn't know there was any wildlife in Thailand, I thought it had all been eaten.
Welcome to TeakDoor Bruce.
Why not another TD photo contest? Wild life the subject.Originally Posted by mobs00
Welcome to TD Bruce. Your Khao Yai thread is great. Thanks.
Ned and I were in Soi Yodsak last night and we could of got some great wildlife pictues if he had remembered to charge his camera battery.Originally Posted by Norton
And I can assure you Soi 6 offers some "Wild Life" picture opportunities.
re the wildlife thread being if the gardening sub forum.. I never realised there was a wildlife forum as I've never looked in the gardening bit.
Perhaps it should be moved and made into it's own sub-forum.. renamed Thailand's National Parks and Wildlife.. perhaps..?
With the obvious quality of the threads there, which I have now discovered, surely it should have a more prominent position.
Done. Hope you like it.Originally Posted by ItsRobsLife

I realise where the threads are now as Mid already posted those links, but it's still a sub, sub forum
> Living And Legal Affairs In Thailand > Farming & Gardening In Thailand > Thailands National Parks
why is it a sub-forum of farming and gardening?that's why i've never noticed it before, I rarely go in the living and legal affairs forum and never go in the gardening forum as i have no interest in it, the wildlife threads to me have a greater attraction, but until now I didn't see them there. I think with the quality of the threads and the obvious kudos that gives to TeakDoor, they should be more visible to casual browsers.
A bump for a thread- not sure if this is the right place, but have limited time for a break and this will have to do. . .Article in the NYT about the success of leopards (and other smaller predators) where other, often larger predators have failed; quote: "In stark contrast to the 3,000-plus tigers thought still to be alive in the wild, leopards are said to number about 500,000."

With a map showing leopard distribution worldwide:
Notice that some places in Thailand may still have some big spotted cats wandering around. I have heard tell that the occasional leopard is still spotted around Pala U near Hua Hin. Does anyone, in particular Bruce K if you have time to answer, have any info on the leopard census in Thailand, and where one is most likely if not to spot one (hard to do even where they abound) to at least plausibly imagine that one might be in the vicinity? I've been in many places where there are good numbers of cougars in the US, and while I have spotted one exactly once (along a highway at night), I like knowing they are around, even if it means keeping the kids close (a good way to convince them to do so as well!).

^Interesting post.
^^ Bruce will probably be around to answer you but in the meantime he does have an article about the Leopard in Thailand on his site.

^That's excellent, mobs, cheers.
