    Should've bottled the fat kunt.
You guys referring to the owners of the RH....(who have now split) or the owners of the BH building (i.e. the landlord and son)

I never understood the role of Billy at the Bull's Head. He was not a manager, this duty was performed by the old biddie who ran the place and the staff, and seemed to spend all his time asking people if they were alright in that used car Essex salesman sort of way or drinking with his chums. Good work I suppose if you can get it although quite how being bearded by a callow oik indulging in pointless and redundant conversation added value was beyond me.

The Black Swan is in my view the only bar in Sukhumvit that actually approximates to a proper pub. The landlord, Dave, is invariably present and conducts himself professionally in that he understands the value of welcoming new patrons and actually talking to them as if they mattered. Naturally, any pub will form its own cliques but the role of a good landlord is to cater to them all equally, providing a sociable environment in which interaction can take place. The Black Swan succeeds in this but current exchange rates and the reduction in passing tourist trade must be a worry for any farang bar.

Been to the Black Swan a few times but never had the pleasure of meeting or talking to Dave. Twice or so I saw the same guy sitting at the bar and typing away on his laptop - presume it was Dave, but he never greeted or spoke to any of the customers.

I quite liked Billy although I agree that he should have been a bit more present at times.

I have never met R or N knowingly.....

There seems to be no secret about why the landlord and management reached an impasse. It was simply that they had not been able to resolve their differences on the new lease agreement and terms. The old lease had run out some time ago.
    Hello all,

Sorry for jumping in, I doubt anyone here knows me... Anyway, I don't know this bar you're all talking about but, (re: the first quote above) DUH? and Impasse?

What did a duck ever do to you? Shocking.
Get more work with the former and maybe you'll have less time for the latter...

Was sitting with Smug Farang Bore in a bar on Soi 22 last night and we both were debating whether we have met you before Toey.

Whilst I am mainly a shy retiring type of drunk Smug is a full on barman and you couldn't miss him even if you stepped over him.

I would imagine we have shared a few beers at Ray and Noks old bar and even older bar over the years.
As for Smug Farang Bore think i tripped over him once in the soi,he was laying face down in a puddle,it had been raining so i turned him skyward as he was drinking far to much water.
