Another thing that I loved about the place is its family owned and operated. It's a Italian/Thai family (mom and dad), the wife makes the gelato herself (she studied/lived in Italy for years), their daughter, who speaks Italian, English and Thai is the floor manager and the service is top notch. The bread is baked in house and they supply other places with there baked goods. There's a deli with a variety of cheeses and cold cuts, it's really a quiet, very nice homey place serving great food.

I'm not sure who you mean by "he". What I meant though, is that I could sit in the window of the place and people watch will enjoying the tuna and cold beer with some nice fresh bread.

Edit....Peroni was the name of the beer, my mistake.

Celebratory Italian lunch with friend visiting from the exotic Middle East and spouse SD: burrata and pesto tomato; tuna tartare with avocado; poached egg, chicory and potato soup; dentice (snapper) stew; Duck ragu on tagliolini; and delightful scoops of homemade gelato for dessert...

All kinds...he just got back from Japan researching sake brewing styles for his magazine and spent two weeks in the US touring restos with one of the more famous Thai chefs from CM I think.

    He's got my dream job.

^ My favorite, I love the capers and olives with the anchovy. Believe it or not, the resto downstairs does an above mediocre one.

Pasta, wine, good bread with olive oil/ vinegar & ice cream combo's, life doesn't get better than that!

The sprinkle of pistachio definitely gave me a tickle.

Nice choices, but I don't believe for a minute that the Pierre Cardin Spring Collection Speciale would be stretched and TC would be sated with just those.
