Police in Lancashire have appealed for information after a shop worker was apparently slapped across the face with a fish in a suspected phone prank.
CCTV images have been released of a young man and a woman the police are looking to speak with following the incident, which took place at the Asda store in Accrington.
The force said a 52-year-old member of staff working behind the fish counter was approached by a young woman, who began to inquire about the different types of fish available.
Without warning, the girl picked up a large bream from the fish stall and slapped the employee around the face before running out of the store, according to police.
A young man standing nearby is believed to have filmed the incident on a mobile phone. He allegedly ran out of the store after being challenged by another staff member.
The woman is described as being Irish and aged between 15 and 18 with blonde, shoulder-length untidy hair. She was wearing dark jeans and a blue coat with white cuffs, white down the front and a red collar with ‘I love PB’ on the left breast pocket.
The man is described as being around the same age, 5ft8 tall, wearing a dark coat and dark grey trousers and boots.
PC Graham Hartley said: “This behaviour is completely unacceptable and I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this incident or recognises either the man or the woman pictured in the CCTV images to come forward and contact me, PC 1183 Hartley on 101.”
I suspect PC Hartley is going to receive some amusing calls.

Plane forced to abort takeoff after crashing into fish
A US pilot has spoken of his shock at having to abort takeoff because his plane crashed into a fish.
Lieutenant Commander Nick Toth’s Gulfstream IV jet was halfway down the runway when he and his aircrew spotted a large osprey flying in front of them.
The bird vanished underneath the plane and the crew, who work for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, heard a bang.
Yet when they aborted the takeoff and taxied back round to check the runway at the MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, all they could find was a nine inch-long sheepshead fish.
Lt Cmdr Toth told the airbase’s internal publication Inside MacDill AFB: “We were nearing the point in the takeoff where we needed to rotate, or raise the nose of the airplane off the ground, when an Osprey with something in its claws flew in front of our aircraft.
“We saw that the Osprey did not gain enough altitude, and that it passed underneath the centerline of the aircraft,” he said.
Wildlife management contractors arrived to investigate what was still being called a “bird strike”, and said they were “surprised” only to find the fish near the end of the runway.
A DNA sample was taken from the bloody mark on the plane where it was struck, and experts later confirmed that it was indeed the result of an impact with a fish.
“At first, we didn't believe the test results,” exclaimed Toth. “There was no way we hit a fish during takeoff. I mean, how does something like that even happen?”
The wildlife experts said it was likely the osprey had been resting on the runway while it ate the fish when it was spooked by the approaching jet. Struggling to get away, it dropped the prey – a natural reaction when challenged by a larger, more aggressive bird.

And you wonder why there are shark tornadoes!
Watch the sky regularly to avoid injury!
Just play it safe and keep an umbrella handy.
These events are happening all too often! Some say it's related to global warming.
To avoid injury listen to the clouds for splashing sounds. You can avoid getting caught in a school.
