Gird your loins, the Brazilian pacu fish is here and it has a hankering for biting testicles.

A rare Arctic fish caught off the coast of Nunavut in northern Canada left fishermen puzzled.

But Nigel Hussey, a researcher from the University of Windsor, identified the strange-looking fish as a "knifenose chimaera." The species, which is related to sharks and stingrays, can reach depths of close to 5,000 feet and is typically found throughout the Atlantic Ocean.

"Only one of these fish has previously been documented from the Hudson Strait," Hussey told the CBC. "Potentially, if we fish deeper, maybe between 1,000 and 2,000 meters, we could find that's there's actually quite a lot of them there. We just don't know."

Imagine going fishing off the coast of Miami -- and instead catching a rare and massive beast that appears straight from the Mesozoic era (or all of our nightmares).

The well-known shark fisherman who snared the 800-pound sea creature below told ABC News it was like "a dinosaur."

“It was very old. It had barnacles all over it,” said Captain Mark Quartiano, a controversial charter boat operator known as "Mark the Shark."

GRACETOWN surf beaches remain closed today after a 5m great white shark was seen close to shore yesterday afternoon..

A giant shark was spotted off the coast of Gracetown in Western Australia's South West yesterday, near where surfer Chris Boyd was fatally mauled on Saturday, prompting rangers to erect beach closure signs from North Point to South Point.

The Department of Fisheries has a vessel on the way to Gracetown and Surf Life Saving helicopter patrols headed to the beach after it was spotted.

The beaches will remain closed for 24 hours - until at least 2pm today - as a precautionary measure.

Mr Boyd, 35, was surfing at the popular surf break Umbies off Gracetown when a suspected great white shark bounced off another surfer's board and attacked him on Saturday morning.

I hope they didn't kill it and did the right thing and released it to grow older and even more barnacles, but like true Americans they probably just killed it anyway.
