Rattanaburi Surin about an hour ago. The reservoir is drying up so the locals are catching the fish and moving them to a deep pool. Some of the fish are over a meter long. Fast forward towards the end of the clip to see a few of the big ones.

Thorm I know nothing about fishing but would like to take up a bit of pier / base fishing in Thailand a bit later on , so can you recommend / give idea about just a bit of basic kit I need ,, I think its cheaper to buy in the UK , probably better quality etc .

Not wanting to win any comps , just mabe hook a bit of lunch out now and again

Nigel, you can buy some decent stuff here but only be careful that the seller isn't raising the price on you for only being a farang. I have a nice rod and reel that I got my Thai friend to get for me and it wasn't expensive and does the job on all fishing I do.

Nig i am a keen fisherman in the U.K,we have a condo in Bangsean been going there for at least 9 years.Plenty of people fishing but to be honest its just too bloody hot,even at 7pm only ever fished once in Thailand.
I keep telling Gert going to buy a fishing rod had a look at a few but can't get motivated to fish in Thailand.

but I,m a bit of an odd one out I love to sit in the sun ,, I have sat out on the rocky piers in the blazing sun with the Thais before .
