US teen bags 360kg gator with fishing rod

A Florida teenager has made international news by catching a 360kg alligator with a simple fishing rod.
The 19-year-old student - less than half the height and a fifth the weight of his catch - was on a hunting trip with his parents and a family friend when they came across the monster gator.
Armed only with what his father called a 'tiny bass rod', Tim Stroh decided to have a crack anyway.
A massive struggle broke out, but Tim slowly began to win the battle as the alligator came closer to the boat.
He hit it with a 'bang stick' to stun the animal before harpooning it.
His father Steve, a taxidermist, told the Daily Mail it was one of the biggest sighted in the area.
"It's the largest gator I've seen since I started guiding hunts in 1989. The processor we went to in Loxahatchee said it's the biggest they've ever handled," he said.
He plans to mount the massive head and tan the hide for his son.
The rest of the gator will reportedly be eaten, with the legs converted into a lamp.
